Oh, okay. That's how I define "love" as well.

So, according to you geniuses, DMB is a funk, jam, rock, jazzy (whatever the fuck that means), alternative rock, folk band with hints of bluegrass. Okay then, someone either doesn't know what the fuck they're talking about (I like my chances with this one) or we've stumbled upon the realization that DMB's music might just all sound different.

Who cares what label they are. They are the Dave Matthews Band, one of the best bands in the world. I love them for who they are, whether its rock, jam, jazz, bluegrass, funk, etc.

They are not and have not ever been a jam band. Yes they "jam" but they are not a jam band.... at all...

Dave Matthews Band is the same way.

And Tim was around for the first albums just as he is now, so to put blame on him for the sound of the band changing is ridiculous.
this. An unknown Dave guested on TR3's Trippin' On You on 2-3-90. For me, Tim is part of the dna. Less stepping Dave's guitar and more fills and I'm a happy camper. I think he could even take a break on some songs. It would flip Ants out if they would at least try to recreate the 90's sound on a few songs.

LOL, really? I don't see a thread on the first page. So, seeing as dude might be new, why don't you tell him how to see if this thread has been done "a thousand times" instead of being an internet douche? Anyways, back to the topic, I don't think it has to be either or. Tim can add a lot with his style to appease the "Jam Band" fans, his sound doesn't only have to be rock and roll. I would expect a lot less of the rock and roll Tim on this album with Lillywhite producing, and more of the methodical, smooth, jamming Tim.

Best post of the thread . DMB should sound however they want to sound, if I don't like it I'll stop listening to the new stuff/stop going to shows.
