I was looking to set my lineup for next week and excited by the prospect of starting Justin Herbert against the Jets based on how he's looking. I added him last week because I was looking ahead at Brees having a bye in Week 6 and felt like Herbert easily had the best matchup.

I just now realized that the Chargers-Jets game was moved from Week 6 to Week 11 as part of yesterday's schedule changes, and the Chargers will instead have their bye next week. The Saints' schedule didn't change so now I've rostered 2 QBs on bye in Week 6.

That's my biggest frustration with this whole thing. It's not just a question of whether a player on your team will play that week due to then-existing COVID concerns. I expect there will be more schedule shuffling over the course of the season, and it's going to have far-reaching and completely unforeseeable consequences on teams that aren't even directly affected.

But my team sucks, so everyone else getting screwed is my only real chance of winning anything.

I'm in a 2 QB league (1 Super Flex, but everyone uses a QB there) and I have 3 QB rostered and now I put a waiver claim in for Andy Dalton just for this reason. The back half of the season could have a lot of schedule issues plus injuries.

Yes that is the exact scenario. So we could go hardline like that but for me personally I don’t think it’s fair. COVID isn’t necessarily an injury. If your WR gets hurt and doesn’t play, they don’t cancel the entire game so your QB and RB don’t play either. The number of players, depending on the matchups, can affect multiple people and drastically alter matchups. This should hopefully be infrequent. And like I said if this happens too much, we can agree to just call it.

yeah I'm fine with your proposal then. just wanted to make sure I understood what we were solving for

this whole thing is not great for the nfl for multiple reasons, but it definitely isn't good that confusion is abundant in moneymakers like gambling and fantasy

I'm fine with that proposal, though I think adding IR spots is something we either need to do now or not at all. Wouldn't really be fair to have people making decisions about dropping injured players now, but other people get the luxury of stashing them later in the season.

If you have a player go on the injured reserve list, say like...oh I don’t know...Christian McCaffrey you can put him in the IR spot and add another player on your roster. Instead of dropping/stashing him on your bench.

Normally I would never consider making these types of changes mid-season but if we agree (or majority... so 7 managers agree) I will add 1 IR spot. I'd like to get this done before Week 7, which is essentially the half-way point of the fantasy season.

So everyone who would like to add 1 IR spot to rosters, please say yes. All opposed, say no. (or something else 8 characters)

Sounds good to me. Adding it after this week’s games but before waivers run again would probably be most fair.

I'm voting no because someone just added Allen Lazard who I never would've dropped if there was an IR spot. I would like there to have been some sort of tolling rule to allow each team to add one player they've already dropped.

If the issue is roster depth, why not just add an extra bench spot for each team? To Clay's point, adding an IR spot midseason only benefits teams who currently have an IR player on their bench. Whereas an extra bench spot is at least equitable for all 12 teams. Just a thought...fine with whatever the majority chooses.

I'm in for 1 IR spot, would also be in for 1 more bench spot. Can we stash covid players in the IR spot?

I've floated both the IR and bench spots previously and would prefer the Bench spot of the two. My other thought is putting a rule on the IR spot and reserving it for COVID affected players only and not just injured players, IE:
Christian McCaffrey. Again, my gut says no changes mid-season but I'll do what the majority wants.

Injuries are part of the game. COVID is not, even if it may have exacerbated the injury bug. If you can designate a COVID-only IR then I'm fine with it. Otherwise the longer we mull this over, the owners who aren't currently Frankensteining a team together can continue to bolster their roster based on an anticipated rule change.

I was hoping that Henry and Hill had used up all their points the week before. That TD that even Hill didn't know he caught definitely helped.

I'm used to facing Nvetta for the championship, but I guess we'll just have to get it out of the way early this year.

So it appears we never broke down the payouts despite raising the entry fee by $5 this year (worst commish). The last couple of years we were also down to 10 teams instead of 12.

Last year we paid out $180 (1st), $90 (2nd), and $30 (3rd). I think it goes without saying that 3rd place still just gets their money back.

As for 1st and 2nd place, we've tried to keep it at roughly a 2:1 payout so I propose $260 and $125. We could also go $255 and $130, but I think it makes the most sense to give that extra $5 to the champ.

If everyone is okay with that, I'll start sending out winnings.
