Re: Boxing fans?

Wilder seemed gassed in the second round. He was beaten every second of tonight’s fight. I’m not trying to take anything away from Fury, but I honestly thought Wilder shit the bed more than Fury beat up on him.

Wilder is a mediocre fighter with a neutron bomb in his right hand. Fury is a good fighter who finally figured that out.

Wilder was finished as soon as the blood started pouring out of his ear. If he has a busted ear drum, that could have messed his equilibrium up. Wilder has got to learn how to play defense.

Wilder isn’t as bad as he was last night. Burst ear drum and he came in heavy hoping he’d get the KO easier. He never recovered from the first knockdown. He had a rematch clause but I’d rather bob arum and Eddie hearn try and figure out how to make Joshua fury.

Solid DAZN card on saturday night. Garcia/Vargas should be a war.

Chocolatito is back in a title fight against Yafai which is a tough matchup for him. I saw Yafai fight last year on an Andrade/Sulicki card. He's legit, but doesn't have the size and power that Rungvisai had against Chocolatito in the past, but he's still a powerful guy for super flyweight. What the hell happened to Sor Rungvisai? Beats chocolatito twice then loses to Estrada and we never hear from him again?

    Feb. 29: Frisco, Texas (DAZN)
Mikey Garcia vs. Jessie Vargas, 12 rounds, welterweights

Title fight: Kal Yafai vs. Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, 12 rounds, for Yafai's WBA junior bantamweight title

Title fight: Julio Cesar Martinez vs. Jay Harris, 12 rounds, for Martinez's WBC flyweight title

Joseph Parker vs. Shawndell Winters, 10 rounds, heavyweights

I’m happy that Joshua and Fury have agreed to a fight, tentatively, but I hate the hoops they have to jump through to get there. Fury/Wilder was already confirmed, they should have to fight again. So was Joshua/Pulev, who is 39 and lost to Klitschko 6 years ago, but whatever let them fight.

Booking Fury/Whyte and Joshua/Usyk before these is absolutely ridiculous. Whyte was already beaten by Joshua and doesn’t have enough of a draw. And Usyk has ONE fucking heavyweight fight. He doesn’t deserve a chance. This is what I hate about boxing. You’ve got two guys at the top of their game and ready to fight each other. Make it happen.

The scheduling of big fights remains the biggest problem the sport of boxing can't seem to figure out.

    Re: Boxing fans?

Fury isn’t facing whyte. He’s facing wilder. joshua is fighting pulev, his IBF mandatory. WBO is saying their mandatory is usyk. If Joshua doesn’t face his mandatories he could get stripped of the belts which would potentially ruin the change for a unified champ fight against fury

When wilder and fury signed their rematch deal they both signed for a mandatory rematch clause. Wilder exercised his right for a rematch. Before fury and Joshua signed their 2 fight deal, Joshua already agreed to fight his mandatory, pulev.

But Whyte is also a mandatory challenger. That’s why the belts are dumb. Let the best guys fight. This mandatory challenger shit is stupid.

Mandatories exist so that the champions can't avoid the "best" opponent. Whyte has absolutely earned a shot at that title. It just sucks that now we have a huge unification fight on the table that should take precedent.

Whyte has been a mandatory for 2 years...Wilder shouldn't of been given a pass to fight Breazeale who was ranked #4, or Ortiz (the rematch), but Sulaiman (the wbc prez) bent over consistently for Wilder, and Whyte certainly has a case against him.

I think if the Fury AJ fight is a real thing...and it seems that it is, than Fury will have to vacate after the 3rd Wilder fight. In which case Whyte likely fights Wilder for the vacated title.

A lot of wheels spinning to make that AJ - Fury fight. most of which lies in AJ beating Pulev (his IBF mandatory), and Fury beating Wilder, and maybe even Whyte early in 2021.

you also have Usyk who newly has become the WBO mandatory opponent. Usyk and Whyte should fight eachother and make it more simpler for everyone, but boxing rarely does what "makes sense"

I went back and watched some old school bouts recently on Youtube including Thomas Hitman Hearns vs. Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Sonny Liston vs. Muhammad "Cassius Clay" Ali and Buster Douglas vs. Mike Tyson. I forgot that Tyson almost won that fight as he knocked down Douglas down late, he just beat the 10 count and was, in some eyes saved by the bell.

legendary fight poster for Lomachenko vs Lopez.....probably the only SUPERFIGHT we will get in 2020...and it isnt even pay per view!

    Cant Wait for that one.

Win or lose I think Lopez comes out of this fight as a superstar...similar to Canelo's situation going into his fight with Floyd.

I cant bet against Loma's skill, but I know a few legitimate boxing writers that Ive talked to that are actually picking Lopez to take Loma late into fight and beat him down. Should be a good one

If the fight against Chisora was supposed to showcase Usyk as a legitimate contender for any belts, I thought it fell short. I saw a weak puncher afraid of getting hit by a bigger man and an exceptionally bad fight going way longer than it should. Chisora dropped his head for every punch he threw and Usyk stood back playing soft. He is a far cry away from being a contender and the fact that he is a mandatory challenger is an absolute joke. Let the names that want to fight each other, fight each other. Yeah

Usyk is the modern day Chris Byrd of heavyweights...I think he's a legitimate championship fighter, and probably top 10 Pound 4 Pound on the planet after he cleaned up a good Cruiserweight division. he is mandatory because he was undisputed at Cruiserweight and the WBO automatically gives you a #2 ranking if you vacate your title and move up in weight.

With that being said he is too small to stand in the pocket against a fighter like Joshua or Wilder, and he is way overmatched if he ever faces Fury...SO i can see what you mean....but Usyk would beat Parker, Whyte, Povetkin, Ruiz, and Ortiz....so he belongs in the ring with the best heavyweight has to offer

Crawford cruises past another mid caliber opponent.

he needs to get out of that top rank contract asap so fights with Spence, Porter and Pacquiao actually become a possibility

Should have stopped the Nate fight after the first big knockdown in the second round. He clearly had no idea where he was. That ref should fucking be in jail.

Yeah. And like...weight classes exist for a reason. Nate is 5’8” and from the looks of him like 170. Jake Paul is around 6’1” and probably clicking 200-205. What a joke.

at their age they should be fighting diabetes...not eachother.

with that being said Im glad I didnt have to watch one of my heroes get hurt last night. Watching Roy fight into his late 40s was painful.

On to a true PPV worthy fight next weekend with Spence v Garcia
