have not seen pitch perfect yet, but I doubt it will be as incredible as LEes Mis was.

I've seen 70 movies so far from 2012. There is honestly not a movie from this year that I hated more than Les Mis, but I'm giving it six free spots on account of my natural bias against musicals. No more than that though, because there are musicals I like, so it wasn't impossible for that movie to impress me. It just didn't. I hated every single second of it.

edit: Not every single second. The song during the sword fight was okay. Went right back to hating it after that though.

On another note, a DVD rip of The Master finally leaked, so I will hopefully be seeing that soon. I think I'll watch Amour first though, and make The Master the last 2012 movie I see, which is funny because it was hands down the movie I was most looking forward to from 2012.

I'd argue that your bias is against a certain kind of musical. The more classical, sung-through musicals are definitely not your taste or even in the same musical category for something like Book of Mormon. That's pretty much like comparing a drama and a comedy movie when you hate every drama.

Fully: Django. Classic Tarantino. 5 Stars. Reminded me of a mix of "Dusk to Dawn," and "Kill Bill." But the vernacular used by some of the slaves was a little off for the supposed time period.

I started watching Les Mis, but after seeing the play twice, I can't make it through the first twenty minutes. If you've seen it on Broadway, nothing compares.

    The Invisible War.

I thought it was pretty good but not great, I felt like it was missing something to put it over the edge for me.

I was wondering why I was able to find that one today, I had given up hope on watching The Master but stumbled upon it today. Going to give that one a watch in a few minutes.

I didn't think The Invisible War was very good at all. The content was utterly gut wrenching, and it's an extremely important social issue, but I just didn't think the documentary was very well done.

I won't bash anyone for liking Les Mis. That's not one that I'll say is objectively bad, like a Crash, or a 25th Hour. I'll bash you if you like those.

They are different, and I get that. My point in bringing Rent up is that I think it's more in the vein of Les Mis than Book of Mormon. So while you're probably right that my bias is more toward a certain type of musical, it's still not impossible for me to like a musical of that type.

Oh I know they count. But it wouldn't make sense to submit a list with 20 titles where 15-20 are shitty. They'd get points or whatever when they don't deserve it. I generally only see movies in theaters that I know I'll probably enjoy, and then watch others later. Just haven't had a ton of time this year.

I was gonna make a thread but ill just ask it in here instead. Me and my friend were just talking about what a fourth Chris Nolan Batman movie would be like.

So pretend he was making another (and pretend it would be the best of the series), which villian would you want to see?

And would you want a Robin character?

And would you want a Robin character?
I think Nolan could do some cool stuff with the Riddler. I'm not a super batman fanboy or anything though.

EDIT: I say no to Robin.

Searching For Sugar Man - 8.5/10

The story of Rodriguez is thoroughly brilliant, his music is really great, and the improbability of the whole thing is simply astounding.

The actual documentary filmmaking was lacking, but the intensity of the story almost completely made up for the poor pacing.

The best doc I have seen since Dear Zachary.
