The "uber" deluxe edition of Achtung Baby was also full of fluff and 3x the price of the Immersion sets - including super cheap knock offs of The Fly glasses. Who are the dummies putting these things together? Meanwhile XTC and Steven Wilson have been raising the bar on both value added content and price for deluxe sets - I think Drums and Wires CD+Blu-ray had over 100 tracks in high res and lots of 5.1 on the BD.

It was the term Pink Floyd
coined when they started their "Super Deluxe Editions" (SDE) of their albums beginning with DSOTM, WYWH and The Wall. While "Immersion" would make you think of a great surround mix, unfortunately The Wall had nothing - a stark contrast to the other two albums which included not only new 5.1 mixes by James Guthrie, but the first proper digital masterings of the original Parsons' 4.0 mixes presented as 24/96 PCM. For DSOTM, it's hard to best that quad mix!

They would need the original tape for a remaster, or at least some version of the pre-mastered version of the album and since BTCS is an analogue master, it would at least need a safety copy to be available.
If there are no existing copies of the original stereo master, THEN a remix is more likely/possible, as that would be the only way to do a new super deluxe edition without just using the CD as the source for everything.
Another example: Temple of the Dog's only album had an analogue stereo master, it was either destroyed in the fire or misplaced during some squabbles between management and the Parashar brothers - they (O'Brien) ended up doing a new stereo mix of the album because the analogue multitracks were not lost (which may be the case for BTCS also), and did a new 5.1 mix at the same time. I'm sure a new stereo mix might rub some people the wrong way, but sounds like a lot of people were keen on Blu-ray expanded deluxe editions of the albums back in 2009 when I did this poll -
