I wonder how a Dave solo acoustic set will go over at a Metallica gig in a stadium. I imagine there isn't a ton of crossover in the two fan bases. I'm shocked this won't be a full band performance.

Seems like it's going to be a festival type show with 'more acts' tba. I mean, there's probably even less crossover with Metalica/G-Eazy fans.

From what I've always noticed with fans of DMB and Metallica this is two complete opposite fan bases that tend to dislike the other musical style, I fall into that

Nah... it'll be more like that guy in the corner of a bar playing his acoustic guitar and singing songs. People just won't pay attention.

Maybe Dave won't go on right before Metallica? Just seems like a weird transition even for a 'festival' atmosphere.

If Dave was playing in the corner of a bar playing his acoustic guitar and singing songs I would stay for hours, if Metallica was playing at a bar I would leave immediately

I actually don't think the fan bases are all that different. Both have been very much in the mainstream.

But, even for me as a fan of both... Dave playing a solo set right before Metallica would be very odd.

I think just about anyone playing solo acoustic before Metallica is odd, hell if Chris Cornell was still alive his music blends far better for that occasion and I would still see it as a bit odd.
