I empathize with this so hard. Genuinely was feeling the exact same way until I pivoted to Gorge. Still have a severe case of the roo blues.

Part of me is wishing I stayed in Nashville. Pretty good lineup of Roo artists playing town. Could've made Khruangbin tonight, Phoebe/Brittany/Sylvan Saturday and Leon Bridges on Sunday.

Kinda sucks too that MMJ got COVID. Would've eliminated the Goose/MMJ/Rebillet conflict.

First show since March 2020. Felt good. Big hitters coming up.

Hopefully in 2022 we can get back to a healthy 15-20+ shows.

Scored a single-day ticket to Outside Lands this morning! Hoping to see The Strokes, Tyler the Creator, Sharon Van Etten, Jpegmafia, Moses Sumney, Bartees Strange, Madeline Kenney

Pretty sure Tyler and The Strokes are gonna be counterprogramming

Also hoping that since SVE is Friday and Angel Olsen is Saturday that they'll do Like I Used To together *crosses fingers*

Holy crap! Marc Rebillet headline show on NYE at the Bomb Factory here in Deep Ellum!!!!!!

Hard to believe he’s gone from playing (literally) across the street for the weekend lunch crowd (for free) to headlining the biggest music venue in Deep Ellum on NYE in such a short time.

For those who don’t know, now you know: https://youtu.be/MGJZfmYMltM

Marc is the shit. His show here has been sold out since I found out about it, hoping tickets pop up at a reasonable price soon.

She's been solid, if subdued, in the past

Subdued in the sense that it hasn't been a big, loud production. She's matched the mood of her music

She keeps it light (look at her Twitter for her sense of humor) between songs and I suspect that's because a lot of her songs are not the cheeriest

I saw one of the few Better Oblivion Community Center gigs (her and Conor Oberst) and they were good together — quick witted, clever

Conor kept introducing Phoebe's songs as his own. "This is a song I wrote about the time I dated Ryan Adams"

Saw ZZ Top last night and while it was good and entertaining, Dusty not being there makes a huge difference. Growing up a guitar player I was always more interested in Billy but when I saw ZZ in 2017 Dusty shined a lot more than expected. The repertoire he and Billy shared was awesome and it's lacking with the new guy (understandably so).

That said, they sounded the tightest I've ever heard them. I'm guessing they had to practice to bring the new guy up to speed, but it shows. Probably weren't practicing too much when you been playing the same songs with the same three guys for 50 years.

I was very impressed, the band sounded great together. But the strength of her voice is whats stuck with me. The lighting and stage set up was awesome. Every song off of Punisher had a backdrop image of one of those pop up books relating to the song which was a cool touch. Encore was a Bo Burnham song from Inside, overall pretty rad.

I wish I would've seen Boygenius, I saw Lucy open for Bright Eyes in July and she's great as well.

With two small kids at home, this is one of the busiest slates I’ve had in a long time.

    So far:
    Blues Traveler
    DMB
    Amos Lee

    Upcoming:
    John Craigie

The Amos Lee show was one of the best concerts I’ve seen in years. The venue had something to do with it, but he commanded and filled the space really well. I’ve seen him before in different venues and don’t remember it being as…cathartic an experience as it was this year. Really looking forward to John Craigie

Tame Impala might be a top 5 show for me all time. Incredible from start to finish. Visuals, performances, the atmosphere. Everything was top notch last night. I'm walking on a cloud today.

Not a concert per say, but I decided to pull the trigger on Bill Burr at Red Rocks. I had no RR shows on my calendar this year, and I've never seen Bill.

    Pumped.

Four shows in the next four nights, let's goooooo!

    Today: Lucy Dacus
    Tomorrow: Mannequin Pussy
    Wednesday: Alanis, Garbage, Cat Power
    Thursday: Torres

I would not have consciously picked four consecutive weeknights of shows. Alanis and Torres were rescheduled from earlier to this week

    Re: Your 2021 Concerts

We're done for 2021 at this point. It consisted of:

    DMB - MPP and SPAC2SPAC
Avett Bros - two public performances at Wolf Trap

We were going to go to the Neptune festival at VA Beach to see Big Head Todd and the Monsters again, but our oldest had to work, youngest had a B-Day sleep over w/ his beset friend.

Unless something pops up outdoors that we like in the next month, we're done for 2021. Not doing anything indoors until our youngest is vaccinated AND the variant situation gets under control. Looking forward to next year for Wolf Trap, the Avetts, Jason Isbell, and DMB...w/ BNL at Wolf Trap secured. Family show we can't wait to see.

    Cheers all.
