I'm worried about global warming. Almost every dire prediction Al Gore made about the next decade after he did the first movie where he flies everywhere on a plane to tell people about global warming has come true so far, so, that's worrisome.

I'd actually love to see thsi play out in a pseudo reality TV way. Say the Dems nominate avanatti, that first debate would be must watch TV where I would fully expect fists to come out and avanatti getting dropped by Secret Service officers.

That said, the dems have a real weak bench so I have no idea who they will run and it is always tough to unseat a sitting President. Running a retread like Bernie or HRC is pointless, they won't energize the base enough and both are proven losers in elections 2 primary and one general losses combined. Warren, booker and harris have nowhere near the appeal that one would expect a major party candidate to have - remember most of the voters do not follow politics like many of us do - plus they looked like fools during the Kavanaugh hearings. Beto seems like a decent guy but he has no executive experience at all and he is a little bland, Biden is an interesting thought, I actually do like and respect him but I am not sure he wouldn't put his foot in his mouth way too many times during a campaign.

I hate to say this but I think we are stuck with trump for another term unless the DNC goes off its collective rocker and nominates a celebrity that all the 'woke' people will rally behind. So yeah, in total I am sick of trump and sick of woke replacing progressive as a mindset.

People like to say this, but it seems untrue. There's a ton of candidate who will run, can excite the base or have moderate appeal, and could win MI/WI/PA and beat Trump. And certainly couldn't be any weaker than the GOP's in 2016 when they ran a dozen candidates and Donald freaking Trump was the one to come out of it (and then went on to win against a badly damaged candidate on the other side with a lot of baggage...a position that Trump will be in once 2020 rolls along).

In all seriousness, I don't understand the pessimism of being "stuck" with Trump. The Dems have to flip a 70K vote margin across 3 states in which they performed incredibly well in the midterms. Do you really think Trump can hold onto his sub-1% wins in PA, WI, and MI?

I was kidding about an actual fight during a debate.

Yes, they do but with how protracted the whole Kavanaugh affair was (aka wall to wall coverage) perhaps plenty of people who normally do not care watched.

Last two Presidents had no executive experience actually.

I would prefer he lost in a primary than having to do another write in or vote for a Dem these days.

Not sure if they could swing those votes to be honest. Trump did run a pretty solid campaign in 2016 and I think he could pull it off again.
