Democrats are leaking confidential documents that Republicans are hiding because it makes Kav look bad.

I think what really triggers some people is that Colin looks vaguely Muslim.

I wish they cared as much about people who are living and breathing as they do about a song or a flag. In the larger picture people are more important than a song or a flag. There are black soldiers and brown soldiers and white soldiers that agree with him. There are black soldiers who have experienced being racially profiled and have experienced police violence. There are black cops who have experience the same. Black people march against black on black crime all the time. It's different when it's your government though. You can do something about it. You know who the Chief is and you can vote for mayor.

Interesting because I can't recall the last time there was a protest for that here.

Edit: Not to mention, you can change mayors and chiefs all you want but that won't solve the problem. We're practically following the script of The Wire.

This is an irritant but I can't post it in the irritant thread because it's political:

I'm getting real sick and tired of the political ads on tv from Scott walkers super pac attacking the dem candidate Tony evers. It isn't that it is a republican attacking a democrat. It's the content of the attacks. Every ad is about how all these teachers did bad things and evers didn't revoke their license (he's the state school superintendent). So here I am eating dinner and I get ads about teachers who make sexual suggestions to girls etc.

Look, if I had an 8 year old I'd be real pissed and I have to explain these ads to my child. These are running at 5 pm! Not like 10 pm when kids are asleep.

Anyway, just doesn't seem appropriate for the 5 o'clock news and it irritates me.

Outside of Bill Cosby I cannot think of anyone calling attention to black on black crime let alone hitting the streets to protest it. Not recently anyhow.

As for military service - I am not sure how many members of the military you know if you believe that there is a high degree of institutional racism. It is utter nonsense, the military was the first major entity to integrate under Truman and frankly when those guys and gals look at each other they see green, not white or black - or blue if you are in the Navy.

True, I was only pointing out that when they are deployed or on base all races are treated equally.
