Adnan definitely did it/was involved. The only way he gets out is via Alford plea many years down the road.

Listen to the tape of the interview where Jay "tells" the police where the car is. He says the wrong place, the police tap on something, then he says "Oh yea, right... it's here" and only then says where it is.

No reason for an Alford plea now that his conviction has been reinstated.

I don’t see how any can be 100% did it though.

I’m able to see 100% did not do it more easily.

I don’t buy any valid motive, and his trial and the investigation I think we’re fatally flawed.

Jays story changes multiple times. He very well could have been coached by the police.

also, Adnan is essentially the unluckiest dude on the planet if he legitimately didn't do it.

As you probably know, if you search true crime on Netflix there is series after series of innocent people wrongful convicted of murder. Adnan could be one more.

I think the police fed him what they needed from him, which is why his story changed every time a new facet of the case unfolded that didn't match his previous story. You can hear them doing it in the interview tapes.

Why would he do that? The drug charge hanging over his head that went away with his cooperation in this case would be one solid reason.


The story he's telling in that article is yet another story. Now the trunk pop was in front of his grandma's house, not Cathy's.

When the police got the cell phone tower info they interviewed Jay. He stumbled his way through describing the night to match what the cell tower info said.

In a wild turn of events, they had one of the towers misplaced on the map. Once this was discover Jay miraculously remembered that he had given those details of the night incorrectly and as luck would have it they were actually near the correct cell phone tower.

But, yeah, obviously Adnan 100% did this and there's no chance cops in Baltimore wanted to close this case,.

Hasn't Jay's story changed yet again with the lividity evidence presented at Adnan's appeal pushing back the time of death (or time of burial)? And of course, his new recollections luckily match the new timeline.

They talked to Jenn first, based on Adnan's calls to her. I don't remember exactly how, but Jenn led them to Jay (maybe just said he was with Adnan that day).

Jay allegedly told the cops where Hae's car was. If you listen to that interview though, it seems pretty obvious he didn't know where it was and couldn't keep the story he was supposed to be telling straight. They had to walk him through his walking them through where it was.

got it. I'm still of the belief that yes the cops influenced Jay, but that they still got the right guy. probably shouldn't have been convicted based on evidence though.

I'm sure every cop that locked up the wrong guy by shaping the case around the suspect they settled on felt the same way. Yea, we manipulated some stuff but only in the interest of putting the bad guy away. Maybe that's okay if you actually have the right guy (it's not) but the problem is when you don't. If you're looking for another podcast to listen to, checkout Wrongful Conviction. There are common threads that run through most of those cases and it's that same type of stuff.

The instances where they can't even find a witness associated with the suspect to manipulate, so they use a jail house snitch instead are particularly disturbing. Put your snitch in the cell with your guy, then put your snitch on the stand and have him testify that your guy confessed to him. Absolutely unbelievable that we allow this type of shit.

Watched episode 1 of the hbo doc last night.

Definitely worth it. You really get to know Hea, her family life, and her friends and a good feel for what it was like at the High School.
