I'd take the Lovely Ladies at every show if it guaranteed Buddy wouldn't play the organ.

What can I say, I am in a missing Roi phase but have listened to that album the least. He’s got some good stuff on there.

Another unpopular opinion… I like the studio She and wouldn’t mind seeing it back.

    I’m just being a wise-ass.

I miss Roi all the time, one of my favorite musicians, but ED and SU are the albums where he was given the least amount of time to shine at all, late alone over good (and harmonically interesting) tunes. That said, I get he got to play some cool stuff over these songs live, but it’s not enough for me to enjoy the songs.

I do, however, LOVE Come Tomorrow and will take pretty much any song from that album at any concert we go to. Yes, I have preferences, but I’m a beggar, so no choosing for me.

To your point about missing Roi, I think he’d have blown us away on VItR if he were still around to play on it...

I really dig LT46. I wish there would be a couple more LTs in the future showcasing the Come Tomorrow songs a bit more. Especially Do You Remember, Blue And Black Bird, and VITR.

I usually listen to the end of Stand Up (studio) where he gets some time to shine, as well as the end of American Baby. I maybe listen to Stand Up once or so a year, but cycle through AFTW and CT on a monthly basis.

I agree about LeRoi. He would've slayed on Virginia, and I think would've been a big factor in another Big 4 (to me) type album, as he seems to be the one to have pushed Dave the most. I could've seen him steering CT more. Glad he's on it.

The studio cut of American Baby is fantastic. Especially the horns at the end.

All remaining 2021 Tour Dates after the Gorge weekend (which was in progress) should've been postponed until Carter and Stefan were able to recover and rejoin the band.
You're not seeing a "Dave Matthews Band" Concert, which you paid for. You're seeing a "Dave Matthews and Friends" event. Two distinctly different events and experiences.

I've been saying this all day. I'm glad they want to work, but it's just not fair to the fans. Both experiences are a lot of fun, but only one is DMB. I could understand Gorge weekend, cause everyone was already there. But the rest of the dates should be rescheduled/canceled until they return.

Just a friendly reminder that Black and Bluebird is an amazing song. Prior to Bismarck, Black and Bluebird was the most Dave Matthews sounding song Dave Matthews had written since 2004. Bring it back. And bring back the ending!

This song's absence since CT's release is all the proof I'll ever need that Dave has the worst taste in his own music.

if Boyd isn't an original member, then Peter isn't either. Pete didn't join untill August of '91. Boyd started guesting around that same time. I'd say both are "OG" members, but neither is a founding member. That would be Dave, Roi, Carter, Stefan.

Also, for records purposes, Boyd was on their debut album, Peter was not. The band was listed as being the og 5 for their first 8 albums.

If we're really playing semantics, there's a case that the Fonz is not a founding member either as the first practice was Dave, Roi and Carter

But he was in the lineup by the time of the first performance and I think that counts

Smooth Rider is pretty fun. Especially with a guest. In fact, the Warren Haynes/Lovely Ladies version from Camden 2015 is amazing and they should release it.

As long as it was sans-lovely ladies, I would have taken a 20 year anniversary tour of Everyday. Especially if it was heavy rotation of the following:

I Did It (Yes, this song knocks)
    When The World Ends
    The Space Between
Dreams of Our Fathers (It's time!)
    So Right
    If I Had It All
    What You Are
    Fool To Think
    Sleep To Dream Her

Obviously they would've played the shit out of the title song as well, but that happens every tour.

I'd have been all for this.

Overall, 2021 has been a disappointing tour since the sets have been so similar. The performances have been mostly awesome but the shows blur together because of the homogenized sets. There haven't been many shitty shows this year, but there also haven't been many epic shows. Outside of opening with Two Step at Railroad, and the surprises that happened at the Gorge, there haven't been any "Holy shit, I can't believe that happened!" moments. This tour's floor has been higher than previous years but its best shows don't reach the level that previous tour's best have reached.
