I was able to get a refund for n2 but there wasn’t an option for n1. Anyone else?

The tour was supposed to start tonight....

We did a "Best of Mohegan" episode for this week's podcast in memory of the lost 2020 shows.

If anyone is looking for a hotel, the Hampton Inn Norwich has availability (at least on booking.com). I just grabbed two nights for about $235.00 with free cancellation until mid may of 2021 and no payment needed until arrival at the property. They have a shuttle to Mohegan on the weekends and "for larger mid-week concerts." Hotel has good reviews all the way around.

So bummed that we didn't get these. Next year they fall too close to the end of the school year in VA. With our oldest a junior, his little brother in 5th grade, and my wife the teacher/librarian it's not time we can take. Further the boys and my parents (where'd they stay in NY while went to the shows) are in the at risk groups...so exposing ourselves to 10K+ crowds and then our family isn't an option.

Sadly, unless there's an effective vaccine and treatment (for the worst cases) that isn't hoping you survive on a ventilator, we're not likely going to any shows next year either. Especially not out of state shows that require significant travel and "new" exposure.

I think tonight's Drive-In should have been the Fall 2018 Mo Sun show, but they never ask me. The Fall 2018 tour was where they found their groove with Buddy.

I was at the Atlanta and WPB shows in 2018, and I gotta say that the WPB shows were pretty solid with Buddy. I still think of his key playing on Bartender N1, and I still listen to those Sirius rips. So good.

We saw six summer shows and five fall shows in 2018. None were "bad", but some were clearly better than others. Between the shows we attended and the live streams (youtube and sirius), Dave's voice was just a little rough during the summer and Buddy was finding and getting his space/places to shine. Some shows had better sets for Buddy than others...songs that either always had predominate keyboards, or where they fit better than others. Everyday premiered with Buddy just a week prior to WBP and has since gotten heavy play, always getting a night during back-to-backs and lost of single night shows. Dave sounded better during the fall tour, stronger, less straining... I think he was nursing some sort of vocal agitation during the summer of 2018 and his voice had been stronger since (he also sounded great w/ Tim in 2017). Buddy's footing just got better and firmer in the fall, and that continued in 2019.

We loved the 2018 shows we saw, but my ears heard Dave fighting more than he had prior and since and you could hear as the tour went on the evolution of the band with a new keyboard player.

Just got home. I thought Night 1 was better than Night 2. Lots of energy from the band both shows. Hoping that Spoon stays in regular rotation.

    What could've been.

Came on to ask which hotel would be best, booking two nights now!

With that said, have one ticket to opening night via WH. Anyone let me know if you’re unloading one or two tickets to N2.

Thank you! Now I don't have to shake waiting for Foxwoods to open rooms, or worry about their prices. I needed two rooms and this an incredible price.

CT Phase III began the 1st week of October. Allows indoor venues to operate at 50% capacity.

I assume playing will be and always is up to the band but if law allows them to play I wonder how they handle playing if capacity is anything less than 100%.

Do they play anyway at a reduced capacity to satisfy the contract and be done with this craziness? How do they handle reducing capacity to get to that 50% mark? Still lots of interesting questions left to be answered.

Does Mohegan have any type of outdoor facility where they could accommodate 15,000 fans safely?

The parking lot. I think 2021 could and probably should morph into a drive in experience in the lots of the venues.

Mark my words, all these shows next year will just be scrapped. The liability will be insane, this is just a way for the bands to make some money off our money on the interest.

100% agree. I understand the bands/management/venues/Livenation have to TRY, but I just don't believe it's going to happen. I wonder what will happen if the concert industry can't conduct business for a 2nd year in a row?

The best I can see happening is all these shows getting scrapped and refunded. The band could then do shows in some kind of limited capacity, social distanced type of venue. Perhaps playing an amphitheater like normal, but only selling every other seat in the pavilion. Then divide the lawn into gated off sections, or pens, that only hold a certain amount of people. Limit lawn capacity to half as well. It sucks, but it's the only way I can see any shows happening.

How are they doing it now with NFL and college football stadiums? I've seen games over the past few weeks where there had to have been 15,000 or so fans in attendance, spread out of course. Perhaps bigger venues and concert promoters could work out something where they sell 20,000 seats to a 60,000 football stadium and spread out the fans?

The liability argument is bullshit. There will be concerts in the US in 2021. Will it be business as usual circa 2019? Probably not. Will all bands tour? Probably not. Will DMB tour? I hope so. But concerts will 100% happen in 2021.

They just announced 15,000 in attendance at this Dodgers game I am watching and tons of fans are sitting near each other in the bleachers. DMB could easily draw 15,000 fans to Fenway so if they can do this for baseball games, there's a way to do this for concerts.

Exactly! It would be super easy barely an inconvenience to have concerts now or in 2021

    Re: Official Mohegan Sun Thread

You people are right, the concert industry is going to have to try to find a way to exist in 2021. They can't spend another year on the bench.

Whoever said the idea for 1/2 or 1/3 full stadiums might be right on the money for DMB. The current slew of dates they have scheduled won't be able to happen. If they hadn't already sold tickets, they could just announce a normal tour schedule and do 1/2 capacity, for example. But these shows/dates will most likely be cancelled. Maybe instead of the 2 nights at Deer Creek, for example, they could do 2 nights at Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indy, and have those people spread throughout the stadium

It'd be much simpler to just cancel the entire tour and then announce a bunch of stadium dates at reduced capacity, I think. I am depressed about the probability that 2021 is also fucked because of this.
