Everywhere today that had SNES Classic preorders sold out within SECONDS. I went as soon as I got a notification that they were up, added to cart, and they were sold out before I could even check out with one.

I guess I don't understand this craze. I sold my original NES a few years back because I never played it. I can go to a local retro video game store and buy and original NEW or sNES any time I want. Why would I go crazy to try and buy a mini-version?

The bundle of having all the classics games on top of a system that (I assume) will run better, or with less problems, than an original NES or SNES.

Would love to have a SNES and am kicking myself for getting rid of mine, but I won't go crazy in finding one.

I have mostly anything I care about game wise on Wii U virtual console. It's a shame Nintendo is putting VC behind a monthly subscription paywall and these classic systems moving forward. I think the days of us owning old Nintendo classics on a current Nintendo console will never be like it was on Wii/Wii U. Another reason why I'm not making the jump to switch and keeping my Wii U.

It's not really a craze either. It's just a supply/demand issue. That's why it seems like a craze. There are barely any of these out there. Microsoft just did kind of the same thing by releasing a "project Scorpio edition" OneX. Those are pretty much sold out after 24 hours. Only difference is a standard version of the OneX will follow. Nintendo could have done something like that with these classic systems but they refuse to get their product to everyone who wants it for some reason.

My daughter was the Wii U in her room now, and I have the Switch in the living room, but no VC on that yet. Sucks.

I've heard the only ones left are the Gamestop in store preorders. You have to go in and do one. Most are sold out but some stores still have them.

I saw your post. Got one in my cart. Asked the wife for our target login and by the time I logged in it was out of my cart and out of stock.

I had looked earlier in the day and they were out. Just had checked on a whim and got it into the cart.

I'd just check back periodically if you need one badly.

Just can't believe Nintendo has either still not fixed their supply chain issues, or are under the impression the scarcity helps their bottom line somehow

GameStop had them up for a bit on their web store, but every time I clicked check out it error on me.

Then they had them on their app, and it would crash every time I would add it to my cart.

Same here, I tried probably 20 times on the app before it took, but it eventually did. Got a confirmation email but who knows if it will stick.

Today's the day - SNES classic day. Congrats to any of you who have got one! I'm not going to deal with fighting for people to get one, so I guess I'm skipping this thing.

a friend lined up at 230am got one at 510 at a WalMart that had 36 in stock.

I guess people in line at Target got f'd. They started a online pre-order/in store pick up so they were sold out by the time most of the stores opened.

Mine was shipped a few days ago; should have it by early next week.

I'm still not 100% sure on if I want to keep it. I have a working SNES with most of the games that I'd play from this, and still don't know how much enjoyment I'll really get from it - I rarely have time to play video games these days as it is outside of a an hour or two on weekend nights with the wife.

If I end up selling I'll let you folks have first dibs because fuck scalpers.

I play my n64 like twice a year. I’m guessing I’d do the same with the classics.
