Loved it. Great time each night.

My husband was able to get us between 2 couples that slept there overnight and they were spewing vile comments about "the people that weren't numbered that got on the rail". First of all, they were still on the rail so wtf are they complaining about? Secondly, like someone else said, how many times have these people been on the rail, so they are essentially a tad greedy. It was literally the one and only time I'll do pit and it was the best night (other than the vile people next to me) of my life. So, luckily I didn't "get drunk and die on my way home" (yes quote from one of the lovely men next to me) and I'm alive to tell you the story! Good luck and I hope you have nicer people next to you (fyi, there were plenty of great people around us - just not the entitled ones next to us).
Sorry you had a shitty experience. F that noise though. Let them cry all they want. I would’ve had them delightful words for all of them.

Tough shit for you if you slept at the venue but were too slow after gates opened to get rail. Them's the breaks.
I met some of the people that are the militants on the numbering system and it started with decent intentions (if you show up early you should be rewarded) but those folks have gone off the deep end because some very big diva personalities MUST be in the exact same spot for every show with sightline x of Dave/Carter. It's very over the top.

Going WPB N1 Pit, thank you for this thread!
What is the deal with wristbands? A
Am I supposed to get them in the mail? Or they just hand them out at WH early entry?
Any suggestions of when to get there on Friday? (We wanted to be poolside for awhile then swing in at a reasonable time/WH early entry)

First time Pit experience, GF wants to be on rail, but doesn't matter to me. Thoughts?

The current group of AARP members that camp and obsess over rail are a sad bunch. I'm not surprised in any way they tried to guilt someone about not having a number and getting on the precious rail.

I've done rail 3 times and that's enough for me. You can catch me in the back of the pit having a relaxed time.

I had West Palm pits N1 and it was a no brainer to trade them for really nice lowers.

My only pit experience was Blossom 2013. Got in the warehouse line about 30 minutes before they walked us down, and got right up on the rail.

Then towards the end of the show, two drunk girls pushed their way up to the front and squeezed in next to me. I could tell the set was winding down, so I had little problem with it.

THEN CARTER GAVE THEM A STICK.

That stick was mine to receive. And I took it from me, when they betrayed me. And they saw it on my face on the battlefield.

They hand them out at the venue. Sometimes right inside the gates, other times not until you get to the ushers guarding the entrance to the Pit itself. I think it depends on the venue.

Hung out in the back of PIT in Chicago this year and loved it. Great experience minus the fact that people kept passing out but that probably happened outside the PIT too.

This is where I'm at too. Did rail twice (Darien and Star Lake) and it was definitely awesome, but a bit of a hassle between waiting all day in line and not being able to go take a leak.

Back of the pit is more than fine these days

I was in the back against the rail to the left of the taper (who is on Ants). Where were you? The young girl who went down was right next to us.

Wow. Apparently Charlotte is not hard-core enough. I took my son three times with WH early entry, got there around 4:30-5:00 pm and was on rail. Everyone was really chill. Just out of kindness we put some kid-sized adults right on the rail next to my son. I mean, I could see over them just fine.

    Son is now 5'10.

Oh my husband had to hold me back, and the ONLY thing that kept me quiet was the fact that this was the ONLY time I would have this experience and I didn't want to chance getting kicked out. However, the security guard in front of me knew what was going on and he even rolled his eyes at these lunatics.

If you're hell bent on being front and center sniffing Dave's farts there are a gaggle of people that live for these moments. I sometimes wonder how Dave feels about looking at the same old stalking people right in front of him.

WPB pit gets packed for a few reasons compared to when it first started. They sell more tickets AND people manage to get in there without really being entitled to it (believe it or not some people have extra wrist bands)

Make friends with those around you. Be courteous, protect each other from the assholes that are all around you (I've found rail people feel entitled to more space that those behind them). PLEASE don't wear a back pack in the pit. You're beating the shit out of the people all around you with it. Want to take a photo? Go ahead, but don't block the view of people for extended periods of time. Have a sign?? Please roll it up and jam it up your ass.

See you in the pit N2 Peter!
Ed - you are my soulmate, I swear.

I can understand being defensive of your spot when people try to shove their way to the front later, but if someone plays by the rules (the actual rules, not the ones these fucking lunatics make up) and ends up on the rail, good for them. Tough shit for you if you slept at the venue but were too slow after gates opened to get rail. Them's the breaks.
And Matthew?? You are too.. But then, so is Allison...
