The Sopranos

What does everyone think of this season so far? My favorite sunday show is back and I wanted to hear others' thoughts on the show.

I think something is going to happen to Junior this seaon, because he is obviously losing it. Tony's problems keep on growing and Adriana is a rat bitch. The previews for next week show AJ having some sort of drug problem which should be interesting to see how Tony reacts. I kinda wish Tony and Carmela would just kiss and make up, I liked seeing Tony at his own house rather than on a recliner at Janice's. Hopefully there are some peeps here that enjoy this show as much as I do.

    so far so good....
i thought i was gonna pee myself when Junior thought that Curb Your Enthusiasm was him & Bobby on TV.... the writers must have gotten a real kick outta that.

do you think they've settled the issues between Paulie and Christopher now that they whacked a waiter and had some "male bonding"?

i really don't like the way that Carmela's character is developing...but then again, last season portrayed her as a shallow money grubbing you-know-what.

i'm interested in what Janice is up to.... notice any similarities between her personality and relationship with Bobby's children and Olivia's with her kids? talk about "turning into your mother"

Yeah that part where they were watching Curb Your Enthusiasm was hilarious. So far the season is alright. I think this is going to be the year that Junior bites the dust. I also think either Paulie or Feetch will end up dying as well as Johnny Sac. As far as Adrianna goes something is probably going to happen. Wouldn't it be something if Tony found out and made Christopher cap her. Talk about drama.

    Re: The Soprano's

I think this season is shaping up well so far. I mean we've only seen three episodes and Mr. Chase has already cracked the story wide open with a ton of psossibilites. I think its very clever how he's able to weave in small tid bits that will mean so much more later, at the same time presenting a very compelling story that is entertaining right now and not just at the end of the season.

Anyway, my thoughts at this point are...
Junior is definitely going to die, being that this is the second to last season fot eh show, I just really don't see what more he can bring to it. plus we always seem to have a funeral every season as well.
I can't say I know what exactly is up with Janice, except that she obviously gonna become a pain in Tony's ass soon. Her marriage to Bobby kinda gives her the somewhat inclusion she's obviously been wanting for a long time. I think she see's Tony as her father, and really just want attention from him.
I think the thing between Paulie & Feetch is gonna get deadly real quick. I hope Paulie is the one who gets it too! I don't like his whole new school attitude, plus i've always thought he was a prick anyway. I don't know why he just rubs me the wrong way. Feetch is old school and apparently pretty bad ass! he's only been back a couple weeks and it looks like he's doing way better than Paulie every has in 20 o so years. I like him and I want to see him kill Paulie. This weeks previews allude to some type of alliance between Feetch and Christopher, so I hope maybe that means something. I think that Paulie & Christopher may have burried the hatchet on the surface, but I don't think Christopher has forgot at all.
Adriana is going to get killed soon. I think its only a matter of time before someone finds out. its obvious her and Chrissy's relationship is not the picnic it used to be, so that's all chrissy will need to hear to get rid of her. The only way i see it going OK for her is if she tells the women of the family and maybe they can help her out, but i don't know what they could do.
What's up with Buscemi's character?? I almost as annoyed as Tony with his whole massage therapy thing. How do you bring someone like Buscemi into a series like Sopranos and make him a massage therapist. I don't know, I just wanna see some more action from him, who knows where that stories going.
Anyone notice that Jonnie Sac's new right hand man is Joe Pesci's right hand man from Casino?? I don't know his name but he apparently is a bad ass, as most of his character's generally are! Jonnie Sac's not taking any shit this time atround and it looks like some people in New York are gonna die. Tony is being very smart by playing it cool. I think its his best bet for now. Don't take any sides, it can only get ugly.
AJ's upcoming drug problem was inevitable in my opinion. He wants to live with his dad. period. he's gonna do whatever it takes to get out of that house. it really sucks for AJ, I mean how are you supposed to respect someone who took all that crap for so many years and is just now screaming for help. at least that's the way I see it. He doesn't feel safe with Carmela and he doesn't trust her. The whole thing with Furio is starting to add up in his head, and he's more disgusted with her than Tony.

That's all I got for now... (wow! i didn't know I thought this much about the show!)

Hey does anyone know if that was Carmine who was at the FBI after the funeral 2 weeks ago? There was an older guy who appeared to be Carmine and it confused me, but they didn't really dwell on it much. it was just before they show the guys in the room listening to the tapes of Tony. It was the older guy who was helping them decypher what the tapes were saying and what Tony meant... Anyone know or can help would be great!

    Peace,
    Gary

My favorite quote from last week was when Junior told the cop, "Go shit in your hat."

That's what I thought, I just don't see how they faked his death though.

Interesting, I wonder if his son is in on it or not. Might be why he was in Miami all this time? very very interesting...

Yeah, I was thinking maybe they might show her some love if she said something before it got too bad, but i guess you're right. Aprile's wife was talking about Pussy's wife as if she were the scum of the earth and she just happened to be married to a snitch, imagine if she were the snitch.

What do you all think about Buscemi's character?
I hate the whole massage thearapy thing... :

Ok, I found out who it is

    http://www.hbo.com/sopranos/episode/...pisode54.shtml

    episode 54

    "Rat Pack"

    Directed by: Alan Taylor
    Written by: Matthew Weiner

    Synopsis

"What kind of person does that? It's like Judas or something. Eating that last supper with Jesus and the whole time he knows they're gonna crucify him. I mean, at least Judas didn't go into any apostle protection program. He hung himself. He knew what he did."

On the eve of the opening of the Museum of Science and Trucking, Tony meets Jack Massarone at Napoleon's Diner. Massarone, as a gesture of "gratitude for all our work together," gives Tony a gift, a garish painting of the Rat Pack, and then gets down to business. He's concerned about the status of their next venture and prods Tony to articulate the details. Tony, as usual, is tight-lipped - which is a good thing, as FBI agents are eavesdropping, courtesy of a tiny microphone in Massarone's cap.

The Feds are intensifying their efforts to get Tony. In addition to Massarone, they've wired Ray Curto and have been pressuring Adriana, who finds the stress increasingly difficult to bear. "I'm being ripped apart here snitching on people," a distraught Adriana tells Agent Sanseverino, "For what? What do I get out of it?" Later, at a girls' night at Carmela's, Adriana has too much wine and almost confesses, but runs away sobbing instead.

Tony, unaware of all this, is focused on the homecoming of Tony Blundetto. The two Tony's grew up together, and Tony Soprano loves his cousin like a brother. So he's more than a little taken aback when Tony B. rebuffs his offer to give him a gig dealing stolen automobile airbags. After fifteen years behind bars, Tony B. wants instead to become a licensed massage therapist. "Look, I been away from all this a long time," he explains, "If I got a shot at staying out and putting shit together, I should take it." So Tony S. gets him a civilian job, delivering linens.

In addition to the change in his cousin, Tony has other shakeups to deal with. Carmela wants to file a separation agreement, and in New York, Carmine Lupertazzi is dead. At the wake, the animosity between Little Carmine and Johnny Sack is as open as the old don's casket. "Fucking Little Carmine," Johnny later vents to Tony, "And after what? Five years in Florida fixing wet t-shirt contests."

Meanwhile, Adriana discovers an upside to being a government informant. When Tina Francesco, her purported best friend, flirts with Christopher one time too many, Adriana has a unique solution - she tells Agent Sanseverino that Tina is an embezzler. Being an informant doesn't work out so well For Jack Massarone, however. Tony finds out about him and shortly afterwards Massarone is found in the trunk of his car, a bullet hole in his head and a golf club cover in his mouth. Later, on the Pulaski Skyway, Tony tosses the painting Massarone gave him out his car window and drives away.

I'll buy that. Maybe its one of his guys that looks similar.

Another thing I forgot to mention, anyone notice Feech's dislike for Tony?
Apparently he wasn't too happy with Tony's decision in Paulie's favor either...(nor was I! )

I think that's gonna become a major issue towards the end of the season/series.
That could be who offs Tony! (which is my opinion of how the series will end. )

Apparently he wasn't too happy with Tony's decision in Paulie's favor either...(nor was I! )

I think that's gonna become a major issue towards the end of the season/series.
That could be who offs Tony! (which is my opinion of how the series will end. )
i can't imagine the series ending any other way...
anybody know if a season 6 is in the works?

Season 6 will be the last installment and will only be 10 epsiodes as opposed to 13 like the others. My understanding is that it is already written, but production will not start until later this year. Supoosedly the haitus won't be as long, but we shall see.

I read this in one of the original press releases announcing that the show was coming back! I'll find a link to it and post it later.

    Re: The Soprano's

Please do tell why "the Sopranos" is not a soap opera. What exactly makes this show any different than "All My Children" or "General Hospital?"

    Thanks.
