Official Oasis Appreciation Thread

I know there's a thread specifically for Dig Out Your Soul which has kind of turned into a general Oasis thread, but I think we need an official appreciation thread. I love this band so much, they're so good.

Discuss.

I like them a lot too. Went through a phase where I was absolutely obsessed with them, and then couldn't stand them for a while because I played them too much. Now I like them again

That's sort of how I am, except I never got to the point where I couldn't stand them, it was more or less I had just listened to them way too much and took a break from them for awhile.

Saw them open for the Black Crowes years back. I was surprised at how good they were live.

I saw them about a month ago and while I love them and was going to enjoy the show either way, I was extremely impressed with how they were live.

Yeah, I was exaggerating a bit...I just had zero desire to listen to them again, until the hype for their new album begin.

Heathen Chemistry is one of my least favorite albums from a band I love, though...

They were my favorite band in the world around 95 and 96, until I bought Crash and fell in love with DMB.

    They used to be.

They're much more mellow and down to earth these days.

Back when morning glory you couldn't have convinced me there was a better band on the planet.
Then I got Crash and got really into DMB.
When "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants" came out I was really pumped and went out and bought it first day.
And I really didn't like it. That was kind of the end of my big fandom of oasis.
I know they've put out several albums since, so I should probably check them out too though.

Their last two albums have been extremely solid from start to finish.

    Oasis that is.

Loved Dig Out Your Soul. Bag It Up would definitely make my top 20 Oasis songs.....as would Boy With the Blues, which for some dumbass reason was limited to an appearance on the bonus disc.

Glad to see more Oasis fans on Ants!!

Go Get "Don't Believe The Truth" from '05, BRILLIANT. Right up there with "Definitely Maybe", "Morning Glory", and "Be Here Now" for me. I like "Dig Out Your Soul" but I thought "DBTT" was much, much better. The production on "DOYS" is so muddy - not what I am used to from Dave Sardy who usually gets such a big, bright, clean sound. (See "DBTT" and Jet's 2 albums...)

They seem to say that before every tour.

I'll believe it when I see it. I didn't know they were tourng with Weezer this fall? Seems like an odd pairing... Is this in Europe or the U.S.?
