Man, finally got around to listening to Kintsugi this week...it's great! Little Wanderer probably my fave track so far but overall I've enjoyed my first full run through more than any other album since Plans.

Saw the band last night, good show. Poor turn out, likely because it was a make up show for a cancellation. Band sounded good, played well. Glad to finally see them

On the band's bandcamp site right now you can stream their first ever performance from 1997, recorded on a dictaphone the quality is of course pretty dodgy but as an archive it's pretty cool to hear.

Chris Walla and I had just finished the You Can Play These Songs with Chords cassette and we thought it would be fun to play a few shows around Bellingham to celebrate the release. We recruited Nick Harmer to play bass and Walla's childhood friend Nathan Good to play drums. None of us thought we were starting a band nor did our ambitions for DCfC extend very far past this particular evening. We simply thought it would be fun to play these songs for our friends before moving on to other things.

Excited for their new album next week. I enjoyed Gold Rush, but not so much the other two songs released upon first listen. They've grown on me.

They played Transatlanticism in full last night for its 15 year anniversary

    https://consequenceofsound.net/2018/...video-setlist/

I have no idea what a rarity is for these guys, but seeing Long Division played makes me want to a grab a ticket for a show.

That was an incredible surprise and an incredible show. I've never seen anything like it. The whole crowd literally gasping when Ben said they were about to play the whole record. And being fully engaged, singing every word to it. Knowing the tracklist intimately- associating different songs with different places along different walks and drives. Never been a part of anything like it at any show. They sound amazing regardless- highly recommend seeing them on this tour.

And btw- Long Division ruled as well! They got really loud and engaged with that one

Fucking great setlist, is that the first time in a long time they haven't closed with Trans?

Listening to the new album new, sounds like an old Pet Shop Boys record which isn't a bad thing in my book. So far, enjoyable.

If anyone is interested, here’s the full show they played in Phoenix 9.08.17 at The Van Buren (a small venue which is pretty cool).

Off the top of my head, I don't think he's played that one yet, but I'd have to go back through to be sure. He's been mixing it up across the whole catalogue pretty well. If he hasn't played it yet I'm sure it's coming at some point. I'm watching Sunday's show right now.

Looks like Sunday's show is all covers. Phoebe cover was great. He did New Slang by The Shins. And he is currently doing (in my delayed viewing today) Def Leppard's Hysteria which sounds awesome acoustic.

Watching the recording from today. Loving these versions of songs from '03-'05 (Give Up, Trans, an EP, and Plans). Takes me right back to high school. Nice distraction from all the things going on.

3/27... holy shit. Ben let the fans vote on their top 10 songs and he played them all, in order.

I really enjoyed the lame set Dave did the other day, but then I watch these Ben sets and I'm like... come on.

Random thought: How do you rank the last 3 albums they've put out against each other:

    Codes and Keys - 2011
    Kintsugi - 2015
Thank You For Today - 2018

That's not my ranking, just chronological.
