    Yeah I'll be honest, I didn't care for her at all in Monarch so I was 100% jaded about her the first few episodes of Shogun. But man she has completely changed my mind about her as an actress with this performance, she has been so good.

    I watched an interview with her on Colbert last night and her English is amazing. You'd never know it wasn't her first language. Even her accent wasn't noticeable. Very impressed by her.

    She was born in New Zealand. Was her first language not English?

    She certainly speaks both languages extremely well. I've enjoyed listening to her in the show seamlessly switching between both languages.
