Now this I can definitely understand. I personally dig Sexy MF, but am not a fan of the scats either.

Central Park or Live Trax 5.

The one from this show (7/29/04 Tampa http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7B-qofHFQ9A) might be the best non-released version, or Hershey '04. The scat is hilarious, Dave introduces everyone, and they each have small solos.

Top 5 dMb song for me. I miss when Dave used to sing the lyrics and play his guitar. I vote any version in which he does both of those things.

I like some of the versions from 94-97 that have a darker style jam to them.

D&T with WWBOM outro, other than that it goes on too long.

I love the D&T versions that have What Will Become of Me? at the end.

But recently I've been digging the one from the 2012 Tour Sampler...Dave's scat about watching Carter play is awesome, and they brought back the Hey Hey My My outro. And I like the crowd sing-along for the 1st verse. I can close my eyes and it almost feels like I'm at the show

Listening through about 30 live versions I have easy access to (so many other shows not ripped to the computer). Going in chronological order. So far I'm not really loving LT5 like most people. I thought the LT21 version was much better. I am expecting to prefer earlier versions than later, as I dislike the Sexy MF stuff, and can do without crowd singing (fun in person, but not so much when just listening). The D&T WWBOM outro is just so good. This song really lends itself well to D&T. As for full band, it's going to be a tough choice for my favorite. Likely something 2008 or earlier, and probably something from the 90's.

Shocked no one else went with LT1. Wow. Holy shit Leroi's solo is insane. And then Tim's...yeah, this is a top version. For some reason the groove just sounds more funky to me than some others.

Any JT without all the bouncing between interpolations/outros is a good one for me. FWIW is the only interpolation/outro I'd mind seeing.

Wow...The Gorge 9/6/02! Damn is that groove funky and Leroi's solo is so clean. Then into a little Dave jam, subtle keys behind him, Stefan keeping it tight, then it picks up some steam before the fade out. Surprised this version didn't get mentioned, how good are the others I haven't gotten to yet?! To be fair, there's not a bad version of Jimi Thing. One of my favorites.

CP must get crazy, because it's off to a horrible start. WTF are they doing? There are snippets of different instruments just chiming in here and there. Butch and Tim are making a mess of this song.

Edit: Ok, so the solo was Warren Haynes, is that him in the beginning too? His solo is great, the scat is great, but I don't think this version will crack my top 5. I'm probably biased because I don't like NYC, and don't like hearing it mentioned in the song.
