Best Versions of Jimi thing!?!?

Jamming out to Jimi Thing 7.30.05 at Randall's Island with Trey Anastasio melting everyone's face as guest!

This is off the Warehouse 5 vol. 5 disc, and I find it to be my favorite version, along with LeRoi Moore straight killin it on the Sax (RIP, we all miss you).

Was wondering because I love to learn the licks of the guests on Jimi, what everyone's favorite version of Jimi Thing is and who's guesting!!?

Not saying they are the best versions at all....but there is something about the versions from this summer, especially wrigley N2 where the crowd is singing literally the whole song that is cool to listen to.

I know people complain about it, but still...so many people singing an entire song together is just awesome to hear.

jimi thing was so damn good pre central park. Roi, daves little solo riffs, no stupid outros or fake ass dancing.

I think Jimi these days doesn't get the credit it deserves. That said, the early 90s Jimis were the best. The jam on 12.7.93 is awesome. It's in my sig if you haven't heard it.

I love the LiC Jimi, Tims solo is awesome.

The earlier ones are great too (LT5 comes to mind with the great solo by Dvid Ryan Harris that goes from the left speaker to the right anf back a couple of times)

One version that I've never heard anyone talk about, but is one of my all time favorites is 8/29/95 with David Ryan Harris guesting on acoustic.

The other stuff is nice to change it up and keep it fresh for the band, I guess, but yeah.

The textbook definition for me is 12/31/94. Same goes for the Nancies>Warehouse right before it.

I believe it actually first occured 2 years ago at either spac or alpine... Not trying to start a venue war, I think my fav version is either CP or one of the older shorter versions where Dave has acoustic solo's

    Central Park.

That being said, I think some of the jams from the 94-96 era are definitely the best that song has ever seen.

Listener Support, for sure. But any Jimi with a Dave solo is solid in my opinion.
