Yeah, first line of that post is automatically discredited. We'll probably next hear things like "omg doesn't he have to take a piss ever?!"

I always thought before the series ended the producers would throw people like that a bone and show him coming out of a bathroom or something

I always just felt they should have done one season where they picked a more average day for him

    Quote:
We’re holding our breath, Jack Bauer: Kiefer Sutherland told the women of The View this morning that the much-anticipated release of the 24 movie will be in (drumroll please) … 2012.

Hey, there’s no reason NOT to believe Sutherland (who was on the show to promote his Broadway play That Championship Season). Still, EW hears that the movie has yet to find a director and has no start date. I guess we should stay tuned.

Sutherland told EW earlier this year that he remains committed to a big-screen version of the Fox drama and, in fact, hopes to begin production within a year. Though Fox ultimately nixed a script by Billy Ray (State of Play), the movie remains “the little engine that could.” He acknowledged that 20th Century Fox has been working with director/producer Tony Scott (Man on Fire, The Good Wife) on the project. “Billy did a fantastic job and there are aspects of that story [that will remain],” the actor says. “I couldn’t be more thrilled.”
I've thought Tony Scott would be awesome for this since it was first rumoured.

Of course I also think Jon Cassar would do a great job.

The news only gets better for fans who are anxiously awaiting the return of Jack Bauer: Brian Grazer recently tweeted that he’s on board for long-gestating 24 movie.

“Got off the phone Keifer yesterday and we are very excited about producing the 24 movie for next year,” he tweeted.

Grazer’s involvement makes sense since Imagine Entertainment, the company he co-owns with Ron Howard, produced the long running action drama for Fox.

Last month, Kiefer Sutherland told the women of The View that the movie will come out in 2012.

"Those Jack Bauer fans just won't give up: The infamous character from Fox's long-running drama "24" was a big trending topic on Twitter late Sunday in light of the Osama Bin Laden news -- no doubt because many were thinking (hoping?) a Bauer-like embed was responsible for the "actionable intelligence" that led to President Obama's press conference."

Recently watched seasons 1-5 again, and man that show is still awesome. I probably forgot 90% of the plot turns except for major ones like Nina, etc... Their whole production team is amazing, the level of detail still gets me. Can't wait for the movie!!

    Such a great moment.

My g/f and I started re-watching Season 1 over the weekend. It's been so long and I forgot how great it was. Seasons 1-5 of 24 are easily my favorite television of all time without a doubt. Season 6 was a low point. 7 and 8 were a moderate rebound, not as good as the initial 5 season run but much better than 6.

Selfishly I wish this show never would have ended, but it was time. It does have great re-watch value I'm noticing too, even though you remember the big plot twists, a lot of the smaller stuff you totally forget.

This was a great show. I loved it all, watched 1 through 8 and Redemption (I watched about 3 seasons in a week at one point). I thought that no show would ever come close, but then I watched Spooks (about MI5, English), and so 24 is now my #2. Still amazing though!!

Figured your 24 diehards would want to know: newest EW mag had a reader poll for the most annoying characters in TV history, numero uno was Kim Bauer

(and for those who may also be Lost fans -- Nikki & Paulo scored #4)

Re-watched Season 5 not long ago, damn that was a good one. So intense. Moved onto Season 6 re-watch because the fiance hasn't seen it yet. Was by far my least favorite of the 8 seasons when it initially aired, perhaps I'll like it more with some distance. First 3 episodes are very good.
