Haha im just busting your balls. I fucking love the tailgate at shows. It really is half the fun. From what I remember in 09 I had a great time tailgating at Bristow. Met some couple who gave me endless free beer. Doesnt get much better than that.

Warehouse seems to be evolving. It sounds even different from Jones Beach as it did the first time it was played this tour. I hadn't been much of a fan since Butch left (although WH is one of my favorites in the past). But I'm liking the Jones Beach version.

just got back. 39th show and was probably top 3 worst shows. set list was terrible save Jimi Thing, So Right and Warehouse. Pitt was awful and its the reason I didnt see DMB in 2011, and I will never go back. Fight broke out with the dude next to me getting knocked out. Awful.

pavillion or orchestra seating from here on out.

who knows, maybe my time with DMB truly is coming to an end.

    Just got back...

First of all, the parking there blows chunks!

Anyway...setlist looks bad but the performance was outstanding. I had a great time. I also don't go to 50 million shows so that probably makes a difference.

As stated, So Right was TIGHT and So Damn Lucky ROCKED. Definitely were highlights for me. But Jimi, Eh Hee, Warehouse, DDTW, Cornbread, R&R, WWYS, were all very good.

I like the new stuff...but nothing is really special, imo.

    Overall, very glad I went.

Yeah we sat around for an hour because nothing was moving, then when we did get out we had no problems.

As for the new stuff, I personally can't get into it, slow songs, I just don't like it

23rd show tonight, first time at Bristow, and that was probably my least favorite setlist I've seen to date. But I still had a great time tailgating and partying in the pit. Was pretty impressed with the crowd down there, at least around me... Everyone was attentive, dancing, singing along, and respectful of people around them. The crowd wanted a better set than that, and they deserved better. So Right, Rhyme, WWYS, and the encore were the highlights. Other than Jimi and Warehouse, Boyd could have just stayed in his bus.

Great to meet so many cool Ants at the tailgate, looking forward to VA Beach in a few hours... Should be a much better show!

Re: ~Official~ Jiffy Lube Live - Bristow, VA - 2012 thread!

Just got back. Awesome first time in the pit(basically on the rail between BT and Timmy) Had my signs that said "B" and "T" and got a shown on the screen behind the band for two seconds or so when Boyd was just going off on Jimi. Definitely made the show for me.

    Other highlights/observances:

Slow start with the Seven opener but you could tell the band was just on from the first note. They were having fun right from the get go so it definitely made up for the lackluster opening run.

Being as close as I was, I really noticed the subtle nuances in this band's performances. I loved actually being able to hear what they were saying between songs.

Dave, Rashawn, and Jeff were all on the side of the stage during Gary Clark Jrs set. I thought it was awesome how they took time to watch the opener and if I was part of Clark's band I would be stoked to have Dave Matthews watch me perform and really get into it.

So Right was intense. Jeff tore it apart for sure. Little bit of an extended outro because they couldnt get it back together to end it. But still, one of the best I've ever heard.

I know the fans at Bristow shows arent necessarily diehards, but even some of the people in the pit were kind of weak. Definitely a far cry from SPAC a week ago.

The fact that the band was having so much fun made my entire experience so much better. Knowing that they're having just as much fun as I am makes me feel good as a fan.

While it wasn't the best set I've ever heard (actually, on paper, one of the worst) but I had tons of fun and would definitely do pit again.

I knew Carter was otherworldly at drums but when you see him from 15 feet away, it's even more incredible. He dominated the entire show from top to bottom.

Sorry to hear about your night. My advice is to take a deep breath and catch another show ASAP. Like tomorrow.

You might be happy to know that it was multiple times they caught you with the BT signs, not just that instance you know about.

While Carter is very very great, I felt like he didnt get a share of the spotlight tonite

    I was? Fuck yes

Boyd was another highlight of the night. I loved watching him from this close. While he did have a few screw ups(Warehouse) he was on fire and really excited to be out there.

I know Carter didn't really get to take center stage that much tonight but his playing behind the music was incredible. He's like magic sometimes.

I've been to half as many shows as you and I feel like I know where you're coming from. don't let the experience in the pit turn you away, some people are just buttholes. there's a reason you have been to 39 shows, and that is cause this band is awesome.

the only way I keep from being sick of this band and it's sets is the conscience decision to avoid Antsmarching a week before my show. don't wear yourself out

Interesting. Glad they skipped EWU, but was intrigued to see stay penciled in to the slot... Which was ultimately skipped anyway. would've been a debut.

That setlist looks straight up bad until Rhyme. I've seen multiple people state that tonight was among the worst shows they've seen, and so far no more than a third of the tour has been worth seeing. He's perfectly entitled to be pissed off right now.

I have zero desire to ever sit in the pit.

Was actually very pleasantly surprised with having so much room in the pit last night. I was probably about 10 rows back, center and had plenty of room to move around had no issues.

By the way, not sure if anyone posted a pic of the Leroi plaque but thought I'd attach it.

This might possibly be the last time I see them. I simply don't like the sound as much as I use to. Tim is just way too overpowering for my taste. On so many songs that electric just makes me cringe. Mercy and Gaucho are nice songs. Sweet and the other new one were just boring. But what REALLY bothers me are the crowds at Nissan. Just a bunch of ASSHOLES out there. I was in 101 L. Some jackass that was sitting next to us tried to kiss my GF. I'm 6'2 and about 230lbs and could've killed this guy, and it took everything for me not to slap the shit out of this tool. Also I'd say 60% of the crowd there isn't even there for the music. They're there to talk on their phones, talk to each other, play around with stupid ass beach balls and baloons. We left during DDTW. One day I hope they ditch Tim and start playing at smaller venues. That's probably the only way I'd go back.

Sorry I couldn't find the Ants tailgate. I tried looking for it. I drove past Target at 3:30 and parked. Met real nice people at the tailgate. Shared my watermelon. Enjoyed the show. Hung out in parking lot for an hour with new friends. Left after an hour and slept in the rest area. Left my one hitter on the seat of my car and cop found it and gave me a possession summons. Searched my vehicle and found nothing. Such bullshit!

If the crowd wasnt so lame I think we would have gotten another song out of them. Probably the worst dmb show ive ever been to. Wish we would have made it over to the ants tailgate if we weren't so late. Didn't make it over to the lots till 7ish.

What the hell was up with leaving that place...seemed like they filtered everyone it right into a dui check point. Luckilywe weren't picked out.

Getting some breakfast and getting the Fuck out of here. Thank God for Phish t tonight.

God the crowd was so lame too many rich yuppy kids for my liking

Had a great time as usual. Sort of a "chill song" set, which didn't please many people around us, but I was very grateful to see So Right, WWYS, and Warehouse. One thing is for sure... the setlist orders are pretty unpredictable, which is fun =D
