    Great Show

First show last night. Man what a great one to start with. The fish, bartender, pig intro was great. Jeff killed the solo on BOWA and the whole band crushed Ants Marching. Lovely night overall.

The newest member of the DMB is young. (But he has strength!!) How old is he anyways? He's very talented, and has played with many talented musicians. I found this:

"Buddy has been on the road with Usher for his 2014-2015 “UR Experience World Tour” and Ariana Grande for her 2016-2017 “Dangerous Woman World Tour”. He also played for Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, Black Eyed Peas and Coldplay at the “One Love Manchester” Benefit Concert. Strong has recently worked with Selena Gomez and Camila Cabello on the Billboard Women in Music Awards Show.

While his influence ranges from Herbie Hancock to Jay-Z, Buddy Strong is a true musician with a greatly diverse and incomparable sound. Describing his self as “positive”, “focused” and a “motivator”, his true passion is to change the world through music."

I just saw him live for the first time. He is awesome on the keys

I was at the Star Lake DMB concert 2 days ago, on Friday, 8.27.21, the day of my dad's 66th birthday. DMB opened with Big Eyed Fish into Bartender. Big Eyed Fish is my father's favorite DMB song and they opened with it!

Friday was my first DMB show since 2012. Over 9 years ago and I remember specifically the DMB opening with Eh Hee on 6.29.2012 for my birthday celebration with family and friends in Hershey, PA (My birthday was July 1st). DMB played Shotgun and they also played Big Eyed Fish into Bartender on that day! Big Eyed Fish into Bartender has been played at 81 shows total and Big Eyed Fish into Bartender opening shows only 28 times. Big Eyed Fish and Bartender have been played in the same show non-consecutively 97 times. Thank you to the people who set up the new and improved search engine. Check it aht

I drove back home to Philly yesterday. The first replay on Sirius didnít have it, but later on (around 5:30pm) the stream had it. Very weird.

Yeah the one in the late afternoon had it too. We listened to it while swimming after the storm rolled out

Only pic I saw was the one Andy Mendoza uploaded to DMB couch tour fb group.

Wasn't a fan of the poster at all. probably top 3 worst of the tour IMO.

I was in section 5 and there were several bills fans in the area chanting before the show. All in good fun

Just looking over my stats here on Ants and Almanac. Star Lake is my most seen venue with 19 shows. When I look at my top ten rarest shows, 8 of the 10 shows are full band and three of those 8 are from Star Lake! 5.31.13, 6.26.04 and 6.10.06

That you did! Glad I wasn't the only one. WTF SiriusXM? Get a clue.

(I had a longer rant about this but just revised it seeing the additional posts that later replays did include IBYU.)

Awesome. Thanks for the pic! This saved my bacon as I am NOT a YMDT fan and love WH. What didn't you like about the poster? I loved the color and the fact that it wasn't a methane lol

the train looked like it was clip art. Thought the dog on the top of train was weird, didn't care for the font. Wish there was a firedancer in the fire. Complete miss. Looked like a high schooler made that in an intro to photoshop class.

Go Bills... patrons were chanting “Steelers are going to win the super bowl” and my husband yelled as loud as he could and shut it down before it became a thing. Home opener then SPAC.... lots of fun great show poster that was bought for us was damaged but we got a poster and went to the show no complaints. Again GO BILLS

    Re: ***Official Burgettstown/Pittsburgh Thread***

I live near Pittsburgh where Steelers football is everything. I mean we bleed black and gold. We all love "Big Ben" Roethlisberger here. But I want to revisit "Big Ben" Roethlisberger's problems versus Boyd Tinsley's problems. You know Boyd's situation.

It is easy to look up Ben's prior accusations if you so choose or maybe you already know about Ben.

Anyways, Ben was allowed to return to the game he loved, while Boyd was ostracized from everything he knew and held dear (his music, his bandmates, his lifestyle). And I understand there are differences between the two, but there are also similarities.

It seems like Boyd's good name has been stolen from him. His bandmates do not even seem interested in bringing him back as of yet. The further DMB goes without restoring Boyd, the less likely, in my opinion, Boyd will be brought back. But Boyd CAN be brought back. I would not take the time to write on this subject if I were not sure that he could be brought back.

Taking a person's good name has dire consequences on that person (especially mentally) and Boyd must at times feel the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Ben has returned to stardom with his name restored while Boyd is left on the fringes of society with perhaps a somewhat disgraced name. Only the DMB can bring Boyd back to good graces. Both Ben and Boyd are famous, both are stars, yet they were treated very differently.

The situations Ben and Boyd found themselves in were allegedly a direct result of their actions. The results have me screaming obscenities inside because I see clearly the differences between Ben Roethlisberger's treatment and Boyd Tinsley's treatment. Boyd is a black man. Ben is a white man.

Now, I think both are solid, good men. I almost know they are. Ben's accusations were more serious than Boyd's. Ben has regained everything, while Boyd is left in shambles. When, if ever, will Boyd's name restored? I still have hope. What do you think?

Yeah, what? You know both of these people personally to speak on their 'true' character? Both of these guys could be complete shitheads IRL, you'd never know. Also, these situations are not the same. Ben's taken the steps to get better at his craft, therefore is less dispensable to his team, while Boyd digressed and seemingly didn't care to improve, making him a very expendable piece of the band. His canning seems pretty straightforward imo

I'm a Browns fan, so i am biased against Ben, but his incidents happened in another era, before MeToo took off. He won two Super Bowls, which made it easier to give him a pass, but it's still a terrible look on his part. My guess is that if he faced the same allegations now, he'd be getting the Trevor Bauer/DeShaun Watson treatment. DMB is run by people with some semblance of a moral compass, whereas the NFL is entirely run on greed, so i think this is an apples to oranges comparison.

I think it's apples to oranges too, mostly because I don't think Boyd was fired for his alleged MeToo incident - I think he was fired because he was half-assing his work and the band got fucking tired of it. That's never been an issue with Roethlisberger.

I agree, I think that was the straw that broke the camels back. Production has never been an issue for Benóheís getting old and dropping off, but heís earned the right to retire on his own terms.
