it's "first come, first served"

trying to fixture out what goes on in live nation camping staff's minds on that process is another thing, but yes--generally they start at the closest section to the showers/trail to the venue and work their way back to the pivot.

the real question is if they fill up one whole "wedge" first, or start filling in left and right, but there's not much you can do about it either way.

i've camped pretty much all over premier and they're all good. i dont mind noise, so to me, the closer to the road the better, because it's closer to the honey buckets.

The Staff at the gorge on day 0 trying to organize campers has been my
biggest source of frustration the past two years. One of them had an RV a foot from running over two tents and a cooler of our groups and harassed us for 30 minutes about following his asinine power trip orders on exactly where and how to set up camp (in GA), until finally the GM of the campsite came over and apologized and told the dude to stay away from our camp….that crew is something else, at least a few of them are problematic.

First time going to the gorge (finally!). I'm flying in Thursday and heading to my Airbnb that night. I haven't decided if I want to fly back monday or tuesday. if i say in WA on monday, any suggestions on what i should do, whether its in seattle or elsewhere? never been to the PNW before. i intend on taking a future vacation to seattle at some point in the next few years, so idk if its worth doing anything just for a day or not.

I've just booked airfare and a rental car for Gorge weekend plus a few days on Seattle to bookend the shows. After last year, trying not to get overly excited just yet, but it feels like this time it's for real that I'll finally finally finally make my way across the country to this venue/experience I've wanted to check out for so long.

We decided to do Gorge this year! Pumped after last year was canceled.

Do the 3 day lawn passes ever pop back up during Instants on WH? And also, has anyone found decent prices for SUV rentals in Seattle? We have 4 people so will need full size probably

We got an SUV for a little over 900. Just going to keep looking in case the prices fall.

Nice!!! Gorge podcasts incoming!!!! You guys in premier?

I believe they are still on Live Nation. If you want WH I do believe they will have them as a part of instants as well. Plus in the weeks leading up to the show there will be a lot available on the boards/fb groups. No doubt you will be able to find what your looking for!

Seems like in recent past years, maybe 2019 in particular, Lawns were never available for any shows on Instants. This year they certainly have had Lawn for Instants. ATL for example has sold out on LN/TM and Instants, and today started without them on Instants, then Lawn was available, and now they aren't.

So I'd say good chance for Gorge Lawn on Instants

The car rentals are no joke. Did a midsize for ~$600 for the week. Last year I had an SUV for $500, but of course had to cancel.

I would like to have an SUV to not worry about the space, but fortunately my wife has tetris-like mastery of packing up smaller cars, so I'm not worried.

Yeah - the rental prices now are insane - glad i can use my company's contract that they locked into with Hertz, because otherwise, traveling now is insane.

Have you looked into mini van costs? I mean, they're not pretty, I get it, but fuck it, who cares? The extra space will work and they're usually cheaper than SUV's.

Has anyone ever rented a pickup truck for Gorge? Thinking a 4 door with big bed (with cover or use tarp etc) could be a good option.

Not for Gorge, but I've done it for golf trips where everyone can just throw their clubs in the bed and it worked out great, tbh.

Some of them that you rent have the lock down cover that goes over the bed, which makes things even easier.

They're not pretty??? I'll let you know our Pacifica is as sharp as it gets.

But no, haven't looked at those to rent.

I did, however, consider just renting a UHaul pickup. At $1.19 per mile (300 miles round trip from Seattle to the Gorge) it would be about $75 less than what I paid for the car. That's IF we did minimal driving between getting the car and starting our drive. May even out, otherwise.

We have a 6 week old right now, so my wife will still be pumping by the time Gorge rolls around. Has anyone had experience with this while at the Gorge or on similar trips?

Obviously looking for any advice/best practices on pumping and keeping the milk cold while there and on the way home.

    Thanks!

It would probably be easiest for her to just pump and dump while there, and then start storing it in one of those travel bags (for bottles/breast milk) the day you're leaving.

Don't quote me on this, but I don't think that those liquids are restricted by the TSA at airports, so you'll be able to take it back through security.

In our experience, dumping it saves a lot of the hassle but supply will be regenerated quick when it's time to return.

This would also allow the wife to enjoy some libations without the worry of spoiling any milk--if that is a worry of hers.

Yea that will likely be one of our strategies, but also just curious on logistics of the whole thing.

I’m guessing she should just do it like normal and hang out in the tent or something while pumping? If she did want to try to store some and not dump it all, what would be the best method? Any other suggestions from anyone? Also, is there anywhere to plug in and charge the pump when needed?

Dry ice in the bottom of a big cooler followed by regular ice, with the milk wrapped and near the top. It’ll stay super cold, but it might also freeze. Did this one year at Bonnaroo for food and drinks and it worked like a dream.

I would think you could get some friendly RV neighbors to help you with charging.
