I'm probably one of the very few around these parts that's a huuuuuge Dream Theater fan and have been pining for the day Portnoy reunites with them. Well, this will have to do for now:

Liquid Tension Experiment may not fall directly in the 'metal' category, but they definitely have a lot of metal elements. And this song has the perfect title (Hypersonic) because it's just an onslaught of notes and sounds.

I think we've talked about Extreme on here before. Over the last year I've gone back and started relistening to stuff I knew I still liked but fell by the wayside over the years.

This albums is a masterpiece. I really hope they do something for the 30th anniversary next year.
