This record is vastly underrated, in my opinion. It's hard to say it's one of their best, because all of their records are "one of their best", but this is at least a top 3 WS album for me.

So please, give it a listen. You might be surprised with what you hear.

Wasn't really for me, but I'm not a fan of Prince and am unfamiliar with Chromeo. Regardless, you were right about the production value, and they certainly seem talented.

High Violet has struck me quicker than any other National album, "Sorrow" is the best thing they've ever released IMO

There is so much stuff that you listen to or regard highly that I either don't know or don't understand the appeal of, like everything not bolded in your list, but I am totally on board with Illinoise. There's nothing better.

The National-High Violet All damn day. Thank you NYtimes. Sorry to those of you holding out.

The Studio - West Coast -- this album kicks ass, anyone listen to them?

Studio, a Swedish duo comprised of Dan Lissvik and Rasmus Hägg, created an underground stir with their debut full-length, Yearbook 1 (2007). Released regionally in Scandinavia on the independent label Information, Yearbook 1 became an Internet sensation, circulating widely on file-sharing networks and getting favorable blog write-ups. Bearing influences of electronica, experimental rock, Afro-pop, and Krautrock, the duo's music is partly reminiscent of early-'80s Cure and New Order, particularly in terms of rhythm; however, with songs such as "Out There," which clocks in at 16 minutes, and with few vocals, let alone traditional song arrangements, comparisons to contemporary indie dance-rock acts such as Fujiya & Miyagi and LCD Soundsystem are more fitting

Illinois is amazing. I understand it's talked about quite a bit around here, but I still think it's underrated. Top 5 of the decade for me. I'm waiting for High Violet, but I'm soooo tempted to stream it.

Listening to an unofficial Sufjan Stevens compilation called Rare Tracks. I don't know what this exactly is, but there are some great songs here. Particularly "God'll Ne'er Let You Down"

Exactly. I've gotten to the point where I can play Street Spirit without messing up, but if I started to sing it would turn into a joke.
