as for his level of concern, again, its all just speculation. "follow up" is ambiguous. He may have asked what's going on, and not considered a casual question following up. He can't investigate a crime. He was concerned enough to escalate the situation. past that, im not sure what level of concern everyone wants- he didnt know who the kid was. if he did, 50 years of good deeds implies that he would have gone out of his way to pay for whatever counseling the kid needed, invite him to games, etc, cuz thats the kind of stuff he always did. but again, thats speculation, and thats all we have
