It's the same price as the regular lawn. So $45 or whatever?

To get it though, you need to line up fairly early with the people going in for pit...get in and put your blanket down, and then hang around til the shows.

They had a smaller stage with bands playing in 2012, not sure if that's the norm, but that was fun to kill a couple hours before the show. Plus one of the Avett brothers came to catch the band that was playing so that was quite cool too.

Haha I will try my best. Once the other regulars come out of hiding, they will be more help

We had seats N2/N3 but ended up still sitting on the lawn anyways. The Gorge is one of those places that you don't want to be close to the stage for. In my opinion

I will be a first timer to the Gorge this year. I have already secured time off and have been trolling websites looking for plane tickets and such. I am beyond giddy to finally make the journey to this mecca. I think I might come in on Wednesday so I can do some sightseeing and hiking. My only concern is where to stay - our group is divided on camping vs. hotels. I'm the kind of person that can sleep on a rock and be happy so it really makes no difference to me but I'm trying to be a mediator between the campers and non-campers! LOL

Understandable! and I'll confirm what ajc_ said about terrace with the exception that there is a 'reserved terrace' area. It's a small portion of the terraced lawn that is fenced off from the rest... I'm not exactly sure what the deal is with it though... I have friends who have a connection to tickets or the venue or something and always get tickets for that area - I had a pit ticket so the 'guard' didn't really care that I was up in the terrace instead of the pit... for what its worth...

Personally, I don't think hotelling (yes, I just verbed hotel...and also verb) is all that practical ... truly the closet hotels are about 30 (?) miles away, so it just complicates things beyond my acceptable level. My rec. is to grab a premier or terrace camping pass and rent an RV - it's simple, comfortable, and let's you take in the whole Gorge experience! Second option - get a vacation rental down in Sunland. It's a little resort community just a couple miles down the road from the venue and right on the river. That would give your group all your standard house ammenties and keep you within a stone's throw of the fun! Good luck!

I have it set up in my Dave Cave, with newly added pics from the venue to keep the motivation going. I did P90X a before the Caravans and loved it! You're right; the first few weeks are the hardest.

can someone please explain that no pit box thing? people who checks it don't want the pit but prefer the lawns? also, but would be my best option with no RV or car, but a mere tent and sleeping bag? most importantly, can i even pull it off being there all alone (with keeping my belongings safe and all that)?

Other way around. Checking the box means you only want the section you chose (Pit or Reserve) and nothing else (don't want Lawn or back Reserves).

Once I transfer some money in to Paypal, I'll be signing up for 2. 2004 we won $3,000. Here's hoping for a repeat!

My guesstimate would be roughly $1k apiece for the flight, camping, tickets, and such. More or less depending on how you like to travel/camp.

Depends on if you're driving or flying. The drive is approx 11 hrs from SLC which isn't too bad, except on the drive home. A long drive on Monday is BRUTAL. If you decide to fly check out flights into Spokane, especially on Southwest, as they can be significantly cheaper than flying into SEA from SLC. I always fly into SEA because that is where I meet up with my group.

I think $1K/person is the high end and can be done for much less, especially if you're o-kay with doing lawn tickets. (and fwiw the lawn at the Gorge is amazing)

There is also fairly regular service fbetween SLC and Pasco (PSC)... not sure if it's price competetive but leaves you less than 100 miles from the venue - and limited traffic on that route compared to coming from Seattle (can't speak to the flow via Spokane)...

As for 'rough' costs... really depends on your preferred(required?) level of comfort/amenities - Outside of flights/gas, you have tickets, camping/hotel, and food to cover. Lawn tickets are what, like $70ish? if you want a night or two down low maybe budget $4-500 for two sets of tickets. Camping can be cheap (no real hotels close) - $90/car in general or bump up to premier or terrace for a couple hundred more. There are food vendors about, could probably eat on $25-30/day/person..? I always bring my own food (of course I've just got a short drive to get there) but you can go cheap - PBJ/etc. all weekend - or as fancy as your camp resources allow.... so leaving out transport, I would think the cheapest 2 people could do the weekend is about $500... more comfortably (and realistically) for another couple hundred. $2k all in for 2 people, would be more than enough to have it all

Cool info! As I mentioned a couple pages back, I'm making the trip this year as well. Coming from Pittsburgh, so my friends and I are definitely flying. What is the price structure on camping? Is that $90/car for the whole weekend or per day? How much is Terrace and Premier camping?

    Thanks!

The 3 Gorge camping levels are for all 4 nights (THU-SUN), up to 4 people in vehicle for Premier and Terrace (I think you might be able to sqeeze more in a car in General camping). Approx prices are:

    $320 - Terrace
    $150 - Premier
    $ 90 - General
