I love triple plays that go around the horn like the Twins did. I watched that clip a dozen times.

The way it sounds, the Twins aren't going to go with the sexy pick tonight. It's more likely they take Brendan McKay over Hunter Greene. That line of thinking worked last time they had the #1 pick.

    You are correct, sir.

Twins went for a SS instead of the two names mentioned above. Royce Lewis. Made an offer to McKay, but he declined. Of course he did, it's coming from the Pohlads.

Last night's game was a glorified batting practice. More hits than outs. Nice to know what it's like to be on the other side of a crappy bullpen outing for once.

We can all forget about the division and playoffs. I haven't seen a more destructive series in the month of June in my life. 4 games, at home, against your top competition and you lose all 4 games by an aggregate score of 28-8.

Our incomprehensively great record on the road is what's keeping us above water. 14-24 at home is so aggravating. You don't generate buzz and ticket sales by teasing us with great road trips and then laying fucking eggs at Target Field.

Stick a fork in the Twins. The entire pitching staff outside Ervin and Barrios are dead weights.

This pitching staff is full-blown AIDS on roller skates. I stayed downtown after work on Friday for dinner and drinks, and decided to head home about 9-ish. On the way to the parking ramp near TF, I encountered people already leaving the stadium in droves.

If there's a reason to go and actually watch this team at TF, it's to see Sano and Vargas smash the life out of baseballs. That tater by Vargas last night was beastly.

This rant is exactly 1 week old. Between then and now we went 5-1 and swept Cleveland to take back 1st place.

They need to board up TF, play this clip on loop (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwVpSBKzQYo), and have them on the road until September.

    RIP Don Baylor.

Only played about 20 games for the Twins in 1987 but he hit .389 in that post-season and a huge, game-tying HR in the do-or-die Game 6.

a walk off hbp to sweep the white sox and hold the first wild card spot. amazing. edit: last twins walk off hbp was in 1996, and the player hit was paul molitor.

they have the same record right now as they did at this point in 1987.

technically the 2nd wild card spot, .5 behind the yankees as of right now. If the pinstripes lose tonight then we'll be tied.

I was gonna top this thread today after the game.

We are gonna play meaningful baseball in September boys!

Crazy there are 7 teams right now in contention for the second WC spot. Yankees have a firm hold on the first spot, up 2.5 games on the Twins. They are playing Baltimore this afternoon, and winning soundly, so that will help if the Twins can win tonight against KC, sending two of those teams below them backwards, while keeping pace with the Yankees.

    Twins
    LA .5 GB
    Baltimore 1 GB
    Texas 2 GB
    KC 2.5 GB
    TB 3 GB
    Seattle 3.5 GB
