But her shit is BOUGHT and not EARNED. She would never earn the right to play Ursula. In fact, when Lizzo met McCarthy, McCarthy said to to her "... why did I get the role?" She even knows she's shit compared to Lizzo.

Should have been Danny DeVito imo

This is like saying Melinda Gates buys opportunities for Bill Gates. Where do you think Ben Falcone's money came from?

Yes, Melissa and her husband have co-written several movies, so of course he's going to get a producer credit. She does as well. In most cases, Melissa is doing him a favor by being a "name" to get his project greenlit (not the other way around).

You're acting like Ben Falcone was some media mogul that Melissa glommed on to rather than a bit actor who never wrote, produced, or directed anything until several years after Melissa earned an Oscar nomination and her career went into the stratosphere

    The Rescue
Documentary about the rescue of the Thai soccer team from an underground cave. This is the 56th movie I've seen that came out in 2021, and it now sits at #1. Incredibly moving and terrific filmmaking.

    I want you back 7.5 / 10

Parts I really liked. Other parts were over the top. Jenny Slate was wonderful. Overall, a good Rom Com considering most are 6/10 or below.

Watched The French Dispatch last night (free on HBO MAX). Its a quirky movie - basically a few somewhat inter-connected stories. I really enjoyed - though admittedly the last 'story' fell flat. But the one with Benicio del Toro and Lea Seydoux made it all worth it. Great ensemble cast.

I guess I watch too many horror/thriller movies because I keep waiting for the shoe to drop and it's just... more romance.

I enjoyed it a lot. Couple of laugh out loud moments. This could have easily been a terrible movie, but they did a nice job with it.

West Side Story (2021, now available on HBO Max and Disney+)

I had never seen West Side Story before, though I was aware of it of course. It's definitely a musical through and through, which is not a particular interest to me. However, I was interested because Spielberg directed it and it's nominated for best picture. Overall, it was good, but it's very long at 2.5 hours. It had that Spielberg feel to it with lots of polished lens flares and spot lighting effects. I'm not sure that anything unique was done with the story. It just seemed like a polished, updated version of the old one from what I could tell and heard from others. Not my cup of tea, but the production quality was good as expected and I'm glad I watched it.

    SCREAM (2022)

As a big fan of the franchise I enjoyed the film. It kept with the spirit of the franchise with the humor and fun kills. I will say that I did not jump at any of the jump scares. I think they did good interlacing the original while keeping it fresh.

Neve Campbell was amazing, of course.

Was really cool to see the actress I worked w/for 3 years, Jenna Ortega (Tara Carpenter), do a good job.
