Impressive!

Mine would be: R2T, UTTAD, Crash splatter, BTCS, AFTW, BWGK, Mercy/Gaucho, FTWII/#27, D&T LITHOG/Squirm, LT1 black and LT2 black.

The thing sounds like shit, but being a completionist addict I couldn't resist, and lucky the album I traded I had two copies of.

It's not just your copy, mine sounds awful as well. From what I've heard, they all sound like crap.

From what I understand they're all terrible sounding, so I did know that going it . It's in great shape though!

The I Did It/Space Between isn't much better. How does Too Much/Jimi compare?

You ended up going with a Pro-Ject right? Upgraded from LP60?

Please don't get into a burger discussion here, it has killed quite a few threads.

Here is a fun question, how much would you guys pay for a "singles collection" from dmb? I am talking every single on a 7" similar to what Coldplay did a few years ago.

We could have tons of great stuff in the beginning, and lots of shit in the later years. It will still be an instant buy for me at almost any price, especially if the artwork was good.

I'm trying to think how many discs would be included. Let's assume they don't re-release Mercy/Gaucho, Funny/#27, or I Did It/Space Between; nor a reissue of Too Much/Jimi (Acoustic) or DDTW (though they can put them on with other singles from their respective albums).

    UTTAD:

    1. What Would You Say b/w Jimi Thing
    2. Typical Situation b/w Ants Marching
    3. Satellite b/w ???

    Crash:

    1. So Much to Say b/w Too Much
    2. Crash into Me b/w Two Step
    3. Tripping Billies b/w ???

    BTCS:

    1. Don't Drink the Water b/w Stay (Wasting Time)
    2. Crush b/w Rapunzel

    Everyday:

    1. Everyday b/w ???

    Busted Stuff:

    1. Where are You Going b/w Grace is Gone
    2. Grey Street b/w ???

    Stand Up:

    1. American Baby b/w Dreamgirl
    2. Everybody Wake Up b/w Smooth Rider

    BWGK:

    1. Why I Am b/w You & Me

    AFTW:

    1. If Only b/w ???

'???' can be live or other tracks for B-sides that are not official singles.

So you have a 15-disc set using the above, at maybe average $5-$7 a pop when buying the full set; that's somewhere between $75 and $105. Maybe sell individual singles for a bit more - $10-$13 each?

I'd buy the set for sure, assuming they get decent mastering and pressing.

I would hope they would rerelease all the singles already released. Would be a cool way to release some song not yet released as b sides!

Problem with 7" singles is you're already starting at the inner grooves...probably why noone ever said, "oh my God you have to hear how good this 7" sounds!"

I've never been a singles fan. I have maybe 5 7 inchers and I've listened to each of them maybe twice. I've never caught on to the allure of them.

Greatful Dead release is from '66, 2 LP.

Really pissed the Cure releases are picture discs. That's garbage and part of why what RSD has become sucks so bad

I see a lot of things I wouldn't mind grabbing and will try to go for on the secondary market but the only things that I just really want are: DMB, Santana and maybe the Dead release. Might pick up the Rush or Allen Toussaint releases too.

I think this is the main reason RSD sucks so bad:

Corey Feldman – Go 4 It (feat Snoop Dogg) b/w Everybody (feat Doc Ice) [7”] (Swirl Colored Vinyl, indie-exclusive, limited to 1000)

I will say I see a lot on that list that I'd like to have.

Dave Matthews Band – Live At Red Rocks 8.15.95 [4LP Boxset] (150 Gram Metallic Silver Vinyl, download, limited to 2500, indie-retail exclusive)

George Carlin – Jammin’ In New York [LP] (first time on vinyl, limited to 1000, indie-retail exclusive)

Prince – Batdance (The Batmix) / Batdance (Vicki Vale Mix) / 200 Balloons [12 ”] (limited to 3000, indie-retail exclusive)

Sublime – Badfish [12 ” EP] (first time on vinyl, 45RPM, expanded art, photos, insert, limited to 3000, indie advance exclusive)

Talking Heads, The / Wildling – This Could Be The Place [7 ”] (Side by Side packaging, limited to 3000, indie-retail exclusive)

I would buy the DMB singles collection in a heartbeat, I love 7" singles.

Not for the audio quality of course. In my devoted punk/hardcore days (early to mid 90's when making a CD was too expensive) nearly any band that could jump in a van and tour could also put out a 7" so I have tons and tons of punk (and hip hop, best friend is a die hard hip hop guy so I went to lots of shows with him, same situation for underground hip hop) singles that aren't available through other means. Its like sonic baseball cards, sit around, flip through the singles collection, maybe throw one on to hear from time to time. Its a total pain in the ass to listen to but every once in a while I have a dedicated singles morning and just set up shop next to the turntable.

I saw a post on FB about a Space Jam vinyl release for RSD 2017 and this comment was genius:
"They should prioritize everything selling for over $100 at Discogs instead of this rubbish"

That's what they should do, I'm surprised I never thought of that. Find stuff selling on discogs for insane amounts of money and make those the RSD reissues/releases.

...but Space Jam is already selling for over $100. It's a decent soundtrack and its only vinyl pressing is insanely expensive for what it is
