I just didn’t think Dave’s falsettos sounded good and were strained, but that’s kinda normal these days. No biggie

Dave's vocals are fine, falsettos were supported, the song is just one feel and one thing and stays there the whole time, the synth thing for me is horrid

The synth gave me a Phish/Snarky Puppy vibe for a second. I liked it a lot. Maybe you need to find a new band if you don't like this song and should only listen to pre 2004 Live Traxs.

Intro/verse is Aerosmith.. sounds like they were jamming on sweet emotion and fell into this… the chorus sounds like a British 90s pop song chorus.. catchy though.. it’s like the second part of She.. Dave must be trying to blend 70s prog rock with 90s pop rock to make its own thing.. pretty cool first listen.. think it will get stronger with more plays..

Three or so listens so far (to substandard video/audio, I'm sure). Not feeling it at all. Does have a She vibe in intro. In a general sense, I also get a vibe of some parts of Seven and Blackjack in that the verses sound kind of purposefully non-melodic (if that makes any sense). Kind of a jarring generic rock sound.

Man I’m usually one of the more negative ones around here and I think this song has a lot of potential. The main riff between the guitar and bass absolutely grooves. The melody in general seems decent by recent Dave standards but once again butchered by awful singing. I’ve never heard him as pitchy in his career as he’s been on these new songs, and pitch is rarely a problem for him. But that being said, I can tell the chorus in the studio will be very good with some glossy perfected vocals

I think the disappointment comes from the fact that they have a 7 piece band and make songs that utilize an assortment of 4 at most with the other 3 barely making studio fills to be played live.

I fully understand that the band is never going to have their signature sound again - that sucks in its own right - but they don’t have to make musically uninteresting songs because of that.

And the lyrics. Good god:

I thought the same thing about it sounding like Aerosmith. After seeing it live and then 2 listens from you tube I think I like it. Chorus is super catchy.

I dig it. It’s good but not great. I think it has potential. I do like TOTB and WATM quite a bit more than this tune though. All in all pretty pumped for the new album. The only new song so far that hasn’t jived for me is Windows. Excited to hear more new songs.
