So i went to a free protest concert during the rnc tonight at the state capital in st. paul mn. The last band was leaving the stage and said "if you're smart, you'll stick around" anyway, Rage came up from the trailer behind the stage, and were blocked by the police. The permit for the concert was until 7, and they tried to get on stage at 6:30. For 30 minutes the police blocked them, until it became illegal for them to come on stage and perform. So Zach and Tom cam out into the crowd and we all got quiet while they sang on megaphones. Tom was singing his guitar part, while Zach did his rap/singing. They then proceded to lead a march from the capital building to the place where the rnc was being held.

    Possible new album!

"Rage Against the Machine bassist Tim Commerford gave a “maybe” when asked last month by TMZ if the band was going to be making a new album. Now, Commerford has given a slightly different response when asked the question yet again, with an added dig at Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan in reaction to the politician’s claims that he’s a certified Rage fan.

A few days ago, TMZ caught up with Commerford in a parking lot again (watch below), and once again asked the bassist about a new RATM album. “Definitely, maybe. Anything’s possible,” said Commerford, adding yet another positive, yet mysterious answer to one of rock music’s most burning questions."

If I didn't already have every album, some special releases and then some, I would be interested in this. I don't feel like spending that kind of money on stuff I already have.

However a new album could kick some serious ass.

ok so since this thread's been dead for so long...

Favorite album: By far. Hands down. No contest for me.
    Evil Empire
That album is solid start to finish, and such a departure from their first album. Perfect mesh of hip hop and rock. Great innovation from Tom. Fat riffs from Tim. Brad is heavy and fresh. Zach is on top of his shit.

Everyone says the self titled is their best, but I think EE is a step back from the primal scream of the self title and really got down to some incredible music.

    Anyone else?

Its really tough for me to pick a favorite album, since all three fucking rock. (not counting Renegades since its all covers)

However I have to say the self titled debut is my favorite, EE a close second, followed by the Battle of Los Angeles.

I want a new album more than anything in this world.

Fuckin love this band. I was at the LA DNC in 2000, one of my greatest concerts ever. My favorite part was during Killing in the Name, Zack told the crowd to turn to Staples Center where people were outside, throw up the middle finger and sing along to fuck you I won't do what you tell me. I waited all day for that concert, and wasn't disappointed.

Had tickets to a concert featuring RATM, Beastie Boys, No Doubt, and Busta Rhymes at Foxboro Stadium back in the day. It got cancelled because Mike D fell off his bike and separated his shoulder. He's been my least favorite Beastie Boy ever since (before that too, but this gave me more of a reason).
