MI 2 was good. War of the Worlds was fine. Oblivion was fine. Last Samurai is amazing. Knight in Day was not good, but that's because Diaz is the worst actress ever. Sky is a cool movie.

I liked Oblivion, and parts of War of the Worlds. MI2 is the worst MI but it's cheesy fun

    Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - 7.5/10

I enjoyed it, but I think Vol 1 was better. There were a lot of jokes that landed very well, but I think the movie suffered from putting in too many jokes. Several of them fell flat, like the taser face stuff and some of the insults between Rocket and Quill. It felt like they were trying too hard to be funny. I was also underwhelmed by the primary villain. It just felt a little unsatisfying. The lead up to the next one really wasn't that intriguing because this one wrapped up pretty nice and tidy. We weren't really given a reason to care about the side-villain that seems to be the focus of the next movie. I enjoyed it, but I don't feel the need to go out and see it again right away.

Not to be an instigator, but The Prestige is basically universally praised, so I don't think it's underrated. It gets mentioned in this thread with some regularity and it's #48 on IMDB's top movies list of all time.

Never saw Oblivion or Rock of Ages. Knight and Day was garbage.

Just looked at my 2013 movie list, and apparently I have seen Oblivion. Had it ranked 44 out of 101, so apparently I didn't hate it.

I don't remember it at all.

Legend (The one w/ Tom Hardy).

Hardy was pretty awesome in both roles he played, but what a convoluted film. It's like they didn't know if it was supposed to be a biopic or dark comedy. Enjoyable, but not great by any means.

6/10 based solely on TH's performances.

Watching Great Wall now. The reviews weren't good, so I wasn't expecting it to be awesome but holy shit is it abysmal.

Yeah definitely a good one, better than I remember it being the first time I saw it. Plus, Scarlett Johansson is ridiculously hot.

I'm gonna be so pissed when Logan gets shut out at the Oscars next year. It's in my top 10 movies of all time. So much depth, I pick up wonderful new things every time. Should win Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Score (FUCK YEAH! Love listening to it when I take walks at night), Best Sound Editing and Mixing, Best Visual Effects, and Best Makeup.

Break that record, Logan. In the world of Disney Marvel making fun movies, and Warner Bros DC making movies that I like despite them being convoluted messes....you saved us all. You da best, Logan. You da best.

    Jurassic Park

Still so good. Some of the special effects are a little dated like the Brontosauruses near the beginning of the movie, but others hold up really well. The T-Rex and Velociraptor stuff is still really good. Loved seeing the 90's nostalgia clothes and technology. One of my favorite movie scores of all time.

Don't Think Twice - 8.5/10 (now on Netflix)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4972062/

I had heard good things about this and wasn't disappointed. It felt genuine and there were honestly funny parts. It's definitely a light-hearted drama though, so don't go in thinking it's just a comedy. I don't know what else to say about it. Go watch it.

Not sure if I should be encouraged or discouraged by Alien: Covenant reviews.

Many say it's basically just a gore fest. Not really my cup of tea if that's the case. Some is fine, but when I hear "gore fest" I just think of lame horror movies.

been meaning to ask in here about this for a couple days now. The story of the dude in Texas literally suing the woman with whom he was on a first date and she kept texting during the movie

    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-39966675

I wanted to check I'm not way off base here (least not for this ) granted as much as I looooooooooathe this kind of behavior, and want very strict theater rules about behavior to be a common thing, but... this is fucking ridiculous, right? or does anyone seriously support this guy going thru with this saga?

Dude is a moron. He lives in Austin, hates texting in movies that much, and yet he didn't go to an Alamo Drafthouse.

I'd be very curious to chronicle seeing how his dating life will go for like at least the next 5 years.
