Re: stefan badmouthing dave

it is just sad that he doesn't show any respect for the one band that helped them get started.

Seriously, you guy's are so over analytical it's mind blowing. He made some innocent comments that got taken as, stefan hates phish, stefan doesn't want to be in the dmb, stefan only wants dmb to play hip hop. You guy's are rediculously annoying fans.

I believe Phish is the band in question that "helped get them started."

While I am a little disheartened to read OTHER interviews where Stefan says he can't wait to get off stage, and I am inclined to believe that all of us have had a bad day "on the job" so to speak...Just because they make boat loads of money and can pretty much do whatever they want, doesn't mean that they, as we do, don't have a "bad day at work".

I'd never heard that Snow Sports Expo interview. Stefan should invite Crimson on tour instead of Nappy Roots.

    Re: stefan badmouthing dave

If Stefan has a problem with their song selection or creation he needs to speak up during the creative process. The next album he needs to be more vocal and give more imput for songs he wants. Why doesn't he write songs? Maybe he does and they arn't very good?

I don't care if they don't like each other...just so they keep playing together and put on good shows.

Last Stop and The Dreaming Tree are credited solely to Dave and Stefan. Most likely, Dave got the credit for th lyrics only. Those are some pretty good songs I should say.

Cant you all see that in a few years none of this will matter because Trey will sometimes tour with the band and Tim, Bela, Jeff, Victor and Futureman will be permanent fictures with the group.

i can't remember if he implied that or said it or whatever, but he sounds like a 2nd grader there. He's also the one that said in the 8/02 Rolling Stone issue that they aren't really that good of friends anyway. They just get on stage and do their jobs.

Dave himself has said they don't spend time with each other except for on stage.

Well, they do live on different coasts, do they not? Mmm, maybe that's one of the reasons why Seattle is so appealing to Dave... and with that I don't mean he hates Stefan so wants to live 3000 miles away, rather he might be the type who wants to get away from it all when he's not working.

    That would be unbelievable!
But as much as I LOVE King Crimson and DMB, I can't say I would like that much of a stylistic change from one band onstage to the next. (though I might like it better than Nappy Roots)

Yeah, maybe we are annoying for enjoying the music that made this band what it is today! How about Stefan keeping his mouth shut and realizing how lucky he is right now and none of these threads would be started. He sounds like a spoiled little bitch if you want to ask me. Seriously, think about what he said. Hip Hop?? WTF? He has no clue how truly lucky he is. He wasn't anything special when he joined this band at the age of 16. Sorry man, but Stefan can be replaced if he isn't happy.

For everyone that saw the Central Park show, was it me or did Stefan look like he was bored up there? Everyone else looked like they were having a good time and then you look at Stefan and he hardly smiled at all. I know he said that he didn't enjoy Central Park that much because he wasn't close to the crowd.I don't know what his issue is, but he needs to get over it fast because I use to really enjoy watching him play. If you watch all the bootleg DVD's in the past Stefan seems to be having a great time.

I don't know what to think anymore about Stefan. Hopefully all of this is blown out of proportion and that he is very happy with the band. :

I think that is a little bit of an over exageration. He just wants the band to go in a diffrent direction. Even dave said he would like the band to go it to a diffrent direction. Dave went as far to say that they have not made a good album in five years in one interview.
The band just honestly needs to go in a diffrent direction.

It depends on how they sound with Tony Levin in the line up now.

A few seasons too late? What the hell have you been smoking? It was during the Dave and Friends tour when this article came out. By the way, thanks for letting me know that it wasn't all that bad because now maybe I can get some sleep. I feel so much better after hearing that news. Thanks! :

the point was just search for the thread. one of the biggest positives about ants is the orginization, so just search for old threads, and post in them.
