TRY "Big 1"

It starting to get the feel that this is DEFINITELY BIG 4, maybe Big 1 Yeah I said it ..... I'm tired of everyone saying it's absurd to call it this early - it takes years to sink in ! I call BS (not Busted Stuff) ...If you like the songs as much as I do this early in the listening process (I've never liked an album this much, this early, pure sound-wise) - then I can pretty much say I'm going to LOOOOVE it down the road !! OK, so let's start the party now - could be best, The BIG 1 - Like Dave said it is !!!! sounds pretty damn good to me - like every song is at least good....and after 10 listens (25-30 of songs we had early) - this is SPECIAL, and I don't have to WAIT say it. BTW, I've been seeing this band since 95, 40 plus shows - don't try "new fan" bullshit !

I haven't heard it yet, but to be better than BTCS and Crash it would need to be literally perfect. I don't see that happening.

It's hard to compare albums- but I think it is just as good (I agree it's too early to say better than) as anything they've ever done - It' really, really good - it's FULL of really good songs......I don't have to wait a year to know that.

haha it's a huge stretch but this album is definitely going to kick ass in so many ways imaginable and unimaginable. dave matthews band will continue to be the best band out there ad that's all there is to it.

Not saying you can't have that opinion, but i agree with the above post, it's pretty near impossible for something to top btcs and crash in my mind. I really like bwgk but it's not there with uttad, my least favorite of the big 3. You said every song is at least good, which I agree with, but on btcs, there is no song that's not phenomenal (I know some people have a problem with Halloween, but this was the first way I heard it so it didnt offend me).

So are their first three albums. Not only that, but the production (on Streets especially) is just brilliant. I'm sure this album is going to be much better than SU, but let's not get carried away just yet.

THis is going to be side-by-side with those 2......every song on this album is really good, I can't say I dislike one......maybe they'll all end up being phenomenal (comes the waiting part) But, for someone who is a fan, and listens to this and says NO WAY BIG 4- or whatever - is out of their freakin mind......

It is not really possible to compare them because BTCS, CRASH/UTTAD and BWGGK are all so different.

Is it one of their 4 best... yes. Is it their best? I say no, but it's subjective. I think Crash is their best album, followed by UTTAD. I know a lot say BTCS is best, but I disagree. I guess calling this the "big 1" is just a little over the top for me. I wouldn't call any of them the Big 1.

Even if it is their 4th best that doesn't necessarily mean it deserves a Big 4 treatment. That would imply itson the level with the big 3

I'm really not here to say - it's definitely ther best album - I will admit, that will take time to know - I was trying to prove a point that it is in the discussion ! Saying it's defintiely not in the discussion are people who need to open their ears, because this album is bad-ass ! I totally agree that it is difficult to compare great albums and say this one is better. But, like I said - it's in the discussion, and from what I know about liking a song this early, there's a lot of them that are going to be GREAT ONES !!

If everyone had heard all of their albums at the same time(including Big Whiskey) I think things would be much different about favorites.


Ants is my favorite studio track by any band or artist ever. I'm not saying noone's entitled to their opinion but nostalgia and years of absorbing music cannot be compared to the first dozen or so listens of a new album. If Big Whiskey was the begining and Under The Table and Dreaming the most recent, I think opinions would be like they are about Big Whiskey not being able to stack up.

I only come to this conclusion because most people are morons.
