I'm thinking the water park is going to be gorgeous this day! Let's Go! I mean it's so. california - chances are good. Anyone know what time they open up the parking lot? I suppose early if they let you in for the water park and the meadows.

I want to say the Wild Rivers opens at 10. So the lot should be open around 9 I would guess.

I am going to guess that this will be a popular WH show. I have gone to every concert DMB has had in Irvine Meadows in the past. I always got somewhere in the ORCH section, no worse than 10th row. However, for this show, I got the LOGE (section 6). I have been a WH member since Feb '99 and typically when I meet the other WH members there, we all have about the same seniority.

I have ORCH for San Diego though. Hoping the concerts will be treated like a 2-night setlist. I know I typically see the same people in my section at both venues each year. Looking forward to running into everyone again.

I didn't request Irvine for the first time ever, but that is interesting that you are in the Loge. I got Loge a few years back from the WH, so don't fret. As you know, that is dead center, so the view and sound quality should be great. Also, I have to think that we have met somewhere over the years. I have been to every Irvine show, and only missed the first Chula show.

As for Chula and Irvine being treated as a 2-night stand, not going to happen. I am with you and wish that was the case. But with no LA show this year, Irvine is the de facto LA show. I fully expect a hit-heavy, radio friendly show at Irvine this year. Plus that pesky 11:00 curfew will always keep the Irvine show down. Although the 1998 show was the best ever!

I'm from LA and am not going to Chula for the very reason I don't think it will be treated like a 2 night stand(I would bet BWGK songs are repeated, maybe one older song, but 7 to 8 songs will be changed up).

WH, 98 member and got Section 3, row K so I'm happy. I actually think Irvine will sell out for the first time since, what, 2002?

I really hope to get my tix through TM/LN, since my warehouse membership ran out (weak), but I will soon be back, with no seniority anymore. Fuck my life. I hope to be able to tailgate this year, hopefully meet some of you nice people. :]

Hello and welcome to the tiniest stop on the tour. Bummer to hear about your WH membership, but don't sweat finding tickets. Hit the ticket exchange here on Ants, hang out in here in the tour thread, or if you have renewed your WH membership, wait for instants. You will find tickets. No reason to give your money to TM/LN if you don't have to.

If you can make the tailgate, please do. It is always fun to hang with some other Ants prior to the show. Always gets the mood set right for the show.

Album year raises the chance of closer to 7-8 repeats. I would be shocked if there are less than 5 repeats between the two shows. It isn't fair to compare, but every song played at Chula(1 show) was played at Home Depot(2 shows) in 2005.

The song plays were split an even 7-8 between the two shows.

Of course, we won't know for sure until September 13th.

Not sure if anyone else is signed up to get emails from Taylor guitars, but apparently they are doing a contest to win a 914-CE signed by Dave, tickets to the Irvine show, meet and greet, etc. I got this in my email yesterday. Looks like it is sponsored by LiveNation:

    http://promo.livenation.com/sweepstakes/dmb/

Anyway, just throwing it out there. If someone wins because of me informing them about this contest, I expect to be welcomed as their "guest" for the meet and greet!

I really wanted the lawn experience for once, so I opted with that for only my 4th DMB show ever.

I can't see the crowd on the lawn at Irvine for DMB being all crazy. This is Irvine. And if money was the factor, then lawn is better then sitting at home watching the setlist.

True. Any idea how early I should come in to get a "good" lawn view or do I have nothing to worry about?

Is there an Ants meetup beforehand? Hell, are there any Ants/people besides you and I going?

Have no idea about what time to go in for lawn. I know that there is a line of people waiting to get in, or at least in the past there has been. Worst case, you can always try and get into WH preferred lawn with someone from the preshow gathering. Speaking of that... nothing going yet. There has always been one, and it is pretty chill. There is a fence at the far side of the parking lot, near the gates, that has been the meeting area the past few years. Some shade, you can hear the soundcheck, and little traffic.

As for who else is going to be there besides us, your guess is as good as mine right now.

A heads up: there's tickets in loge 5, 6, 7 that popped up on LN today. http://www.livenation.com/edp/eventId/405090/
As of when I got my pair this morning, these were the offerings:
Loge 5 and 7 - third to last row (UU), about 22 seats near the center aisle.
Loge 6 - very last row (WW), about 11 seats right in the center.

I opted for Loge 5 because I like having some people behind me; it makes you feel more "in the action". You can use the "Click N Pick" map to choose your exact seats, so if anyone else grabs Loge 5, let me know!

Hey Irvine! Been 10 years since this show. A solid set, and I remember it being a fun show. Hell how can you go wrong with a #41 opener followed by DDTW > Stone > Say Goodbye. A friend of mine had a photo pass for this show and gave me a great shot of Dave.

Last check it was still there. It might have closed, so let me check real quick... ok park is still open. Park hours are from 11-5 on the day of the show. Admission is $32. Or half of what Disneyland costs.

I actually grab Listener Supported from the cd rack this weekend just to hear the heartbeat intro. Forgot how much I loved that intro.

The set was really good. The only AfromM I have ever gotten.

Fondest memory from this show, the lady behind me had way to much 'fun' before DMB took the stage. She barfed pretty much the entire show. Thank goodness she had a nice enough boyfriend that he held her hair back as she yacked everywhere. Now that is true love.

Woohoo Wild Rivers! In my opinion, more fun than Disneyland. Then again, I'm a fish. So makes sense.

I have seen many people around me over the years in far worse shape then that lady. My opinion on that kind of stuff, if you aren't in game shape, i.e. don't drink heavy or smoke out, don't try and play with the big boys at a concert. You are going to loss, in more way then one. Why waste your money on a show when you miss the majority of it because you either passed out, blacked out, or spent too much time with your head between your knees.

Why waste your money on a show when you miss the majority of it because you either passed out, blacked out, or spent too much time with your head between your knees.
I agree- why pay for a show you might not even remember? It's much much more enjoyable when you just have a slight buzz (or nothing) going on. The music gives you a high in itself! (Not that I don't enjoy a little rum and coke to sip on).

Also at Verizon in 2007 during the OPENER (Dreaming Tree) a guy a row ahead of us on the aisle across the way was COMPLETELY passed out!! So passed out, he was sliding out of his chair into the freaking aisle!! Hysterical!! Even funnier was when he woke up during the Encore break asking his friends when the show was gonna start!
