DMB is returning to Albuquerque, New Mexico on Wednesday, September 16,2020 for a show at Isleta Ampitheater, 5601 University Blvd SE. This will be their sixth show at Isleta/Journal Pavilion/Mesa del Sol, with the last stop in 2009. Discuss all things Land of Enchantment and tour stop here.

Anyone been to this venue?

I have. It’s pretty run of the mill, mediocre. It’s about 10 minutes south of the airport in a largely undeveloped, desert area. It’s strangely orientated away from Albuquerque’s most visual feature: Sandia Mountains. Not much nearby. That said, it has easy access from Airport/freeway, ample parking, and plenty of room for parking lot tailgating.

I guess that would depend on your target price point. Someone mentioned on Facebook that staying at Isleta Resort was fun last time, but I’ve never stayed there so I can’t say. It might have a shuttle back and forth to the show (it sometimes does because it is affiliated with the venue).

I booked Hotel Parq Central, which is close to freeway for easy drive to venue but also near downtown for nightlife. It is a former insane asylum, so it’s perfect

I also love the Hotel Andulaz Albuquerque, which is super chic and fun but pricey. If I can get a deal there, I will switch to that hotel. Other downtown hotels should all be decent. I’ve heard people rave about El Vado Motel on Route 66. Unfortunately, Hotel Blue (another hip, somewhat affordable place) is closed for renovations. Also look for hotels near Old Town.

For cheaper hotels, any of them near the airport should be serviceable.

I’m looking to swap two Warehouse PIT tickets for this show with two quality reserved seats in the front sections at Isleta. Wife does not want to mess with PIT right now and feels more comfortable with assigned seating.

I attended the show in 09' and tailgating was not really an option. They were asking people to head into the venue after parking. No idea if this has changed.

According to my second hand information, there is no tailgating at the venue. Can anyone confirm/deny?

It seems like about a million years since WPB. I am really excited to go to a concert and not sweat balls all night.

12 years ago (last time there was a show here), there was a pre-show gathering in nob hill at a now-defunct brew pub. Closest gathering spots to the venue would be in the airport area, also Isleta Casino has nice big lounge w patio and is about 10 minutes south of venue.

Can't wait for the show tonight. It's my first since 8/5/06 at Randall's Island. 15 years ago!

I don't really know what to expect. From what I've read, seems like the Fiddler's Green shows were heaters? At least N1 (saw some conflicting reviews of N2).

What does that mean for tonight? Will they repeat any songs they played this weekend?

If not, how likely is it that we see any of these that they *didn't* play this weekend?

I think given that today is Indigenous People’s Day and the importance of the native people/Puebloans in New Mexico, I’m pretty sure we are going to hear “Don’t Drink the Water” tonight, perhaps as the opener or closer. If they ever play “Cortez the Killer” without a guest like Warren Haynes, tonight would be the night for the same reason (and no, I don’t think it will happen).

Considering they just played DDTW on Saturday, how likely is it we hear it again? Having not been to a show in 15 years or paid much attention to the band since then, I don't know how often they repeat songs on back-to-back shows.
