i grudgingly like McCain, although, if you want to talk about flip flopping, he really is all over the place.

Obama followed by Clinton, followed by Gulliani and Romney. I would never vote for Edwards or McCain. They're phonies.

    As of right now, Rudy.

It sounds weird, because I am ultra conservative, but I feel like he is the best candidate. It will really come down to his stance on gay marriage and gun control for me.

Rudy! And as a bonus-- first Italian-American President! :thumbsup

Obviously this could change. I really like Newt politically, but I doubt he is electable.

    good luck.

nice to know those are your key issues. Suppressing people's rights to loved ones' hospital visits, and protecting people's rights to slaughter defenseless animals.

Barack Obama. As if with my previous posting record would suggest otherwise. I watched this, and had to convince myself he wasn't a psychic. http://www.abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=2966585

I get the sense that this board is more liberal than not, but that the constant Poli Sci forum posters are fairly balanced, politically.

Obama is a fad. He might be semi popular right now, but he's lacking credentials, contacts, influence, and many other powers that the head of state should have. He's only been on the political scene for about 2 years and has no experience whatsoever doing anything. You might ask that he doesn't need experience, but America needs someone with political experience to put the country back together and rally the country's world credibility from almost none back to where it should be.

Obama has hired some really good advisors and marketing people. Why can't the public see through the charades? His only advantage and selling point is that he can get people excited, where is his experience getting things done, passed in the house/senate, where are his high profile and powerful contacts in Washington and other countries?

To me, a Canadian, ex-pat living in Ireland and seeing world views on the subject (also a world political junkie), Americas best candidate for Presidency is Hillary Clinton. You might not like her, but you cannot say she wouldn't do a good job. Not only does she bring brains, charisma, power, influence, contacts, WORLD popularity and likeability (America needs their credentials raised on a world level), she has the ability to actually get things done - Most importantly she has Bill at her side. Currently the (ex)politician with the highest popularity rate in THE WORLD, he brings advice, experience, brains, and everything else the "Bill Clinton" has. He's a brand.

With Nancy Polosi being the speaker of the house (3rd most powerful position in US politics), its showing the public that a woman can take on a powerful position.

America needs a president that when they travel abroad they are greeted by a mass of crowds loving them (http://english.people.com.cn/english...02_42126.html), not a president where a 30 mile radius needs to be evacuated and manholes welded shut, and 12,000 police officers for protection (http://www.findarticles.com/p/articl.../ai_n16529000). Especially when this country (Germany in both examples), are a major political ally, trading partner, and more. Not only should this President focus on bringing the country together, but think and have the ability to work on World issues and bring back Americas credibility.

It's about equal rights, dude. And yes, people care a LOT about freedom and equality in this country.

So far my vote's for Obama. I'm just hoping nothing comes up to change my mind drastically.

I have no idea. No one on that list gives me any legit hope and most of them all have skeletons in their closet.

I guess I would vote for Obama because he's new to the game, but I'm not totally enamored with him either.
