Retiring My Collection

I've decided to retire my DMB tape collection. If you want a copy before I do, you can check out the Reddit thread here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DMB/comment...do_you_want_a/

ALL REQUESTS MUST BE IN NO LATER THAN 2021-06-30 AND ALL DRIVES MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN 2021-07-05. THESE DEADLINES ARE FIRM.

My collection weighs in at 4.8TB.

If you're interested, that Reddit post has a link to my directory listing, instructions for how to get in touch, the whole bit.

Thank you guys for quite the 20 year ride.

Dude, what a collection. And a hell of a first time post after 15 years.

I’ll be sending a hard drive this week. Thank you so much for curating this and sharing it for the community.

Good that all that doesn’t get lost forever.
It would be too much stuff for me to handle (400 albums I own are quite enough to listen).

I did this a while ago. I wish I had held on to the more rare shows that I had (IEM's, SBD's, Soundchecks, etc...), as I don't really talk to the guy I handed them off to anymore.

    Oh well.

Sorry to see you go. At least you took a bow and graciously walked off stage. I've seen so many people who left though the years have conniptions in an angry open letter to the band.

20 years. About nearly the time of 2001 summer tour and release of Everyday. I discovered this band in Napster and Limewire in college back in late Fall '99.

5TB won't hold it, after you account for slack space (space lost to technical limitations of how files are stored on a drive). It has to be 6 or larger.

I have no substantive gripe about the band, and if you look at my pic I put in that reddit post, you'll see I will carry them with me forever (I still love Nancy and have been meaning to have her recolored). But things move on, so it's time to do this.

    Awesome offer!

Not sure I want to spend $125 dollars on a hard drive plus I don't know what shn or flac means despite trading CDs for years.

They are the same files you'd get off the downloads bittorrent tracker on Ants. Except all at once, no downloading. :-)

I just don't like filling in fields. Trust me, I've seen plenty.

In fact, let's put it this way: If your first time seeing #41 wasn't a #41 Police, we're not even having a conversation.

LAST CALL on this offer. Arrangements for trades must be complete by tomorrow night, and drives must be received by Monday. Requests for trades after tomorrow will be declined; drives received after Monday will be returned empty (at your expense).

    It won't fit on a 5. It needs to be a 6.

Exactly why I am not getting in on the original offer, I only have a 5
Looking for someone who is willing to load me 5 with as much as fits, in particular the older years

I am just seeing this offer. In case I miss the deadlines... is anyone who was successful in obtaining a copy willing to make a copy of their drive if I send them a blank hard drive? OR is anyone planning on putting this on a webserver or creating a dreaming tree torrent in the future?

I got your message on Reddit and responded, so you've met that deadline. :-) Get the drive moving and you should be good.

    Thanks.
