It wasn't that bad - not something I want to make a habit of.

My crew seems to have bailed out this year (decision was made pre openers announcement). I was on the edge also. There’s a slim chance the openers drag me back in but seems unlikely. With that said, if you’ve never been, you should definitely go. Don’t think you can do better than these openers and idk how many 3 nights in a row DMB has left in them.

I was contemplating only a 2-night go this year because of money. That all changed with the idea of Bela possibly guesting on stage with the band. I won't miss that. It will be siiiiiiiick!

Actually I wasn't, but I will definitely take a listen to that one.

The one that got me interested was from Live Trax 7 on 12-31-96.

I don't have a link for ya, sorry. It's on google music if you happen to have a subscription.

    It's worth a listen.

    Thanks for the link!

The drive is the only thing I'm not looking forward to at the Gorge. I made it a point to make sure I got the Alpine resort for the last 4ish times.

i just heard the alpine resort was a shithole...

and then you can't experience the awesomeness of the alpine tailgate...right?

My buddy organizes a charter bus and I took that last summer, so clutch.

The generators were relentless last year. Fully realize we were in RV camping, but it was in the high 50s at night and the front row was lined with rental RVs with cheap harbor freight generators that ran ALL night for seemingly no reason. There's no allure anymore to get in early and close to the gates if they'r e dropping all the rented campers on the front row.

Winery and quick stumble back are appealing to me.

    Generators are not.

However you can be surrounded by generators in Terrace or Premier as well.

yeah that's the worst. wayyy more RVs in Gold. There's quite a few in premier, but i honestly don't feel like i ever recall an issue with the noise. maybe it's because Gold is more RV focused people are less reluctant to run them more?

Those who have been to both the Northerly Island and Gorge pit: would that be a fair comparison, size wise?

This is true. I've stayed in Gold the last three years and don't have any recollections of annoying generator noise, but I may have just gotten lucky with our locations. I'm sure it was there, but just not at a level to stick out in my mind.

unless you're only requesting gorge lawn x3 and premier, i would not suggest using your priority on a premier pass.

    they were PLENTIFUL last year.

You never know. Some years they’ve been pretty scarce or harder to come by.

I bet the Gorge is a hotter ticket this year because of the early announcement of supporting acts and less tour stops.

    And $350 Oklahoma tickets

Lol I wish I could have splurged on that Cave B condo. It crosses my mind for a couple hours.

My buddy organizes a charter bus and I took that last summer, so clutch.
You can catch the golf cart or a car ride to the top of the hill by the green lot. I enjoy the piss filled pool though for the tailgate. And yes, shared a dirty room with Shafe that's probably on a murder haunted house show somewhere. Purely paying for location.
