Missed out on rain yesterday. Now the best chance of rain between now and Friday is 15 percent this afternoon. Goodbye lawn.

Added a water channel for the downspout. Looks much nicer than those tubes from Lowe’s.

I am sure there a many Solo Stove owners on here so wanted to get some direct feedback rather than blog reviews. I purchased a bonfire sized model with a stand and most reviews are noting it doesn't burn grass. Can anyone confirm? I've been around a few and it seems like it's too hot not to but reviews read as if the stand lifts off and gives the heat enough escape. I just did a big landscaping job and prefer to use it in the lawn given my set up but will be kicking myself if it scorches the new sod. Any experienced feedback is appreciated!

Front of the house looking tidy. First time mowing this season without bagging. Waiting until fall to put some plants in the beds.

    Lookin good, yo!

Here's mine after yesterday's mow. Tried a little zigzag pattern after I saw someone else do it on Reddit. Didn't come out exactly as hoped for but not horrible for a first try

There is nothing more I look forward too when I'm mowing the lawn than being done with it... I can't imagine spending MORE time just to make zigzag pattern.

Going on over 2 weeks without mowing. Parts of the lawn are still dormant from heat stress. Probably will mow this weekend though as it's very slowly looking like it's coming back. Parts of the lawn that had shade have still been growing.

Mowing my lawn is part of my personal zen therapy along with watering my plants (like an old lady). And the patterns really don't take that much longer than a normal mow, maybe an additional 5-10 minutes total depending on what kind I'm doing.

I have a sprinkler system that runs every even numbered day for about 4 hours. It would have to be running for like 12 hours a day to get the whole lawn green when it's mid-90's and dry for 2 or 3 weeks straight. We've been setting heat records here for this time of year plus with no rain.

I was feeling decent about my lawn until this heat wave hit, and the city approved a new company to install fiber underground throughout the city. Came home to 4 holes like this in my front yard. If you look closely, you can see my sprinkler line was severed. They did fix that later in the day. Presumably there will be more holes in my yard tomorrow. Sigh.

Do you all always overseed when you aerate in the fall?

Yup, gonna be my fifth year in a row coming up this fall. May dial it back just a little bit as far as how much existing stuff I remove through dethatching, depending on how beat up it gets over the summer.

My lawn has never looked this good this late, but reseeding definitely helps the lawn as a whole look better through the fall and the following spring. I'm too nervous to deviate from my overseeding practice just because it's been working so well for me the past few years.

I am definitely going to be seeding the fuck out of my backyard, though. I've gotten it to a pretty good point from where it was but I want it to be way more lush than it currently is. I'm also going to be building a firepit and making a gravel path near my shed that will definitely be tearing things up within the next few months.

Summer is hardly starting and I think I'm already over trying to keep the grass nice. Probably will continue to fertilize and try to get rid of weeds/crabgrass, but with summers the way they have become, none of it really matters because it just dries out so easily.

And no, I'm not going to water it.

Thanks. After last year, the lawn looks the best it ever has. The front will get the full tilt in the fall but not sure what to do in the back. The dog will not be able to leave aeration plugs alone and would probably trample any new grass anyway.
