A thread to discuss your favorite scents whether it's incense, oil diffusers, air fresheners, wax melters, candles, soaps, perfumes, colognes, etc.

Through Covid and spending infinitely more time at home I've really dived into exploring incense. My past experiences with incense were cheap synthetic dipped wildberry sticks or various Satya sticks from head shops, but there is a whole world of incense styles out there - from Japanese, to Tibetan, Indian, bakhoor, and resins. I've been really into Japanese styles as you can find some high quality all-natural scents that are pretty subtle and not cloying or overpowering in anyway. They burn 20-30mins and are perfect while I study or clean. As most of these are blends of dozens of ingredients and not single-note scents, I've found the more I burn a particular scent the more I learn its subtleties and nuances and they really grow on me as time goes on. It's been a fun passive thing to do as I sit at home.

Love cedar/pine candles in the winter. Also used to love Stimulating Volcanic Stone Extract body wash from axe, that was my shit back like 06' to 08'.

Sweet Basil is the best smell. And while when it flowers it ruins the basil leaves themselves, I think the basil flowers smell even better than the basil itself.

People sit around and talk about spraying Lavendar essential oils on their pillow at night. Lavender? Are you fucking kidding me?

Get me some basil essential oils, and maybe my wife will agree to actually support your wife's pyramid scheme business for a month. (Sorry your wife is probably going to lose your family a couple hundred dollars in the end after two months of bothering all her friends and running out of people to huckster their products, like every dumb business marketed at wives as a side job).

Not what I was thinking, but very similar. The first rain of the season as it hits the asphalt. Or maybe it is whats described above that I smell.


Also love the smell of Garlic slowly cooking in olive oil.

Year round smells: mint, rain, fresh baked bread, pine, fresh cut lumber, new electronics, oil paints, and my weirdest enjoyable smell is skunks.

My grandpa used to wear this stuff all the time. Very distinct smell. Definitely could pick it out anywhere.

Here's a weird one, how about Scotch Tape? I've always enjoyed that. Freshly bloomed Jasmine Flowers is another favorite scent.
