This just seemed to be the way they operated around this time period. Boyd has songwriting credit for “Joy Ride,” “Sugar Will,” “Crazy Easy,” and “Break Free” also.

Everything about that song and album art is wrong except for the very bottom of the art, "We've got far to go". If he really is trying to find his "way back" he isn't lying...

I re-listened just to check I wasn't insane. You are definitely wrong. If you can defend the last 30s of that song then there's not much you won't like.
