Well, they have been playing together since they were very young, went to college together/played against each other, and now they live, travel, vacation, and play together all year long. IMO that’s exactly what I’d expect and want them to be doing.

I get where you’re coming from. I agree rivalries can lead to ratings and interest, so I can’t argue golf wouldn’t benefit from that.

I guess since I either know, have played with, or been around most of these guys (some more than others) I know how great of guys they are and how badly they really want to beat each other’s face in once on the course. The smack talk can get pretty epic lol.

I'm not too interested in rivalries in golf. If there were only two guys that were miles ahead of everyone else it might be fun to see them have a chip on their shoulders for each other, but it's unrealistic in the current environment where there are so many good players. They can't all dislike each other. There are still some dickheads out there that don't want to be friends, Patrick Reed for example, but he doesn't win enough to be a threat to anyone.

I do find it mildly amusing that Rickie is in this group of 'young guns' and they keep winning majors around him while he keeps getting older and empty handed.

Why wouldn't these guys be friends? They are all rich (especially for their age), have the same drive and interest in golf, they all have the same time off from their "job". It makes perfect sense that they become friends and hang out with each other.

Well you are right on the money so far this week! Think back to when we could not beat the Europeans in the Ryder Cup. You already knew who they would be playing with but the US had such trouble finding pairings. Finding someone who could play with Tiger was such a challenge. Now we are the ones with the pairings that seem set in stone. I think Reed/Spieth and Fowler/Thomas will be around for a long time!!

I think he'll have three good (not great) rounds, maybe 70-74, then one sub 70 round, maybe on Saturday.

Finishes mid to low in the limited field.

I would view that as a raging success.
