Re: ***Labor Day Weekend at the Gorge 2020***
Bored at work so and have a little FOMO as I see the Gorge chatter going on so... Random Gorge Tips/Opinions from my 3 years attending-
- No one in my group was an experienced camper, more of the opposite really, we camped in Premier each year and it was great. No issues whatsoever. Wouldn't attend Gorge without camping.
- if possible, get into Seattle N00 (Wednesday) rather than N0 (Thursday). It can be quite a hectic and draining day to do all you have to get to the Gorge even on Thursday on top of a 5+ hour flight for east coasters
- if you're used to seats for shows, get seats at least 2/3 nights
- find solar powered string lights on amazon to hang outside your canopy. hang a lantern from the top of your canopy. that should be enough.
- Evergreen Market is a great dispensary in the Renton area
- Preorder all your camping extras/tailgate stuff like coolers from Walmart/Dicks wherever like a week or so before (key an eye on the stores hold times) and set it for In-Store Pickup so you 1) know it will be there when you arrive 2) don't have to worry about showing up to Walmart and them running out of coolers or whatever. We did our shopping in Renton, WA
- You'll want more than 1 cooler, no matter the size of your group
- if you're into them, bring more seltzers than Beer
- for coffee in the morning, buy the 4 packs of Dunkin or Starbucks iced at the grocery store and keep in the cooler rather than walking up to the Pivot for coffee every morning. The lines can get long in the morning for coffee and sometimes you don't feel like waiting/walking up to the pivot early.
