Yeah it’s quite the haul. I only stay if there’s a shuttle available. After show might be a long trip

Said fuck it and booked the The Cove in Lake Geneva. Was so much fun last time we went there but we were able to get in on a shuttle to and from. Praying some1 can make that happen again.

We've done the Cove several times and always enjoyed it there. Drove back and forth to the shows though, gotta do the all day tailgate.

Get an Airbnb on the Chain O' Lakes just over the border in IL. Boat during the day (have to hit up Blarney Island) and head to the show at night and then repeat. It's not far. It would be cool if Trippin Billies played Blarney during the day over the weekend. Chain O' Lakes is a lot more fun and affordable compared to Lake Geneva.

How is Pit at Alpine? I plan on hanging out in the back of the Pit rather than trying to cram my way to the front. I have only had pavilion or lawn in the past. I am leaning to opting out of lawn, but don't know if I should just try for the best pavilion.

The pit is huge. I wasn't in it my only shows at Alpine, but from my pavilion seats I noticed that there was a lot of open space towards the back and to the sides.

Pit at Alpine is huge compared to other amps. Done it a couple times and have had no issue with space. I normally start the show more centered and closer to the front, after my first beer/piss run I come back and just settle in the back and on the edges.

The energy is still great in the back of the pit and feeling/hearing/seeing that sea of humanity behind you is pretty awesome.

That image brought me back. After bein in the pit both nights for the CHI shows last year, I need that Alpine energy again. That pavilion is loud and rockin. Nothing like it.

Wife hates pits in general and is terrified of crowds. Done WH premium seats my last few shows but she is only willing to do 2 shows total this year, which are Creek. Considering rolling to the pit single one night since I've never done it at Alpine.

Going on 3 years now without that Alpine feeling in me. So ready to be back. Did pit Deer Creek n2 last year and it was great, but not in the same league as Alpine IMO

Agreed, as someone who does Alpine and Deer Creek every year, I *love love love* Deer Creek, but the energy and the crowd vibe at Alpine is just incomparable. It's kind of hard to describe if you haven't been there. The band just has a buzz to them that I have never seen at other venues. Even shows that look 'just OK' on paper with the setlist just have a totally different feeling.

This video has always been one of my favorites. How unbelievably loud the crowd is singing, I love Dave's reaction around 1:20 where he can't wipe the grin off his face and is just shaking his head.

Had a similar moment N1 in 2016 during Grey Street. We were in the walkway between the lawn and pavilion and I was looking down over the crowd. The moment at ~4:03 in this vid made me audibly gasp it was so loud and beautiful. I've never had that experience before.

Not exactly sure where to post this, but since I am going to Alpjne... Is premium worth it? What does it get you besides the listed items?

    $115 ticket
    $20 parking pass
    $50 poster
    ~$50 gift?

$235 — what do I get for the other $90? Am I just paying for them to hold my poster aside?

Very much so for a quick escape after the show. The tailgating isn’t as exciting there however.

If you don’t mind the wait, the after show lots make for some good entertainment (i consider this true for most venues). Last time at alpine the wife and I set up our chairs, grilled some burgers, watched people stumble around, watched two couples scream and argue, and then watched two dudes almost fight. After a little more than an hour we pulled right out of the lot and were on our way.

Not 100% sure I need to do this yet, just gauging interest as an option. Anyone out there with a resort room that would prefer a queen over the two double beds if they let us trade? I've heard of people trading before so it seems like they are good with that stuff.

Blue and Yellow lots are closest to the entrance.

Traditionally, official opening time for lots is 3 PM, but they will allow early entry for $20 per car. The early entry time varies, but the venue will typically post on their Facebook page when they are opening up for the day. It's usually around 12 or 1.
