Re: So You're bored on the boards? Make a setlist!
This would be an example of what I would consider to be an amazing set featuring creativity in set writing and the ability to mix things up for a change. This set would have me on my toes, and it's too bad there's no chance at all of a set this unpredictable coming to life:
Dave Matthews Band
Farm Bureau Live, Virginia Beach, VA
July 26, 2013
Stay
Rooftop
Belly Belly Nice
So Right
Pig
Recently (full) ->
Cornbread
Broken Things
Busted Stuff
You & Me
Dancing Nancies ->
Drunken Soldier ->
Funny the Way It Is
Hello Again
Belly Full
#41
Satellite ->
Ants Marching
-------------------------
Lover Lay Down
So Much to Say ->
Anyone Seen the Bridge ->
Warehouse
I think this set is more than fair to everyone, while still being incredible. It features 5 songs from AFTW, has a couple of the songs Dave loves to beat to death (Satellite, Cornbread, You & Me), brings back several songs that have been missing for a while (Recently, Busted Stuff, Hello Again, Lover Lay Down), has a strong representation of the band's wide catalogue, puts a few songs that have been completely overkilled for a while now back on the shelf (Jimi Thing, Grey Street, Eh Hee, Two Step), features a couple fresh and interesting segues, and is loaded with crowd favorites and radio hits.
Why on earth a set like this has no shot at seeing reality is beyond me.
