This. Seriously. 2007 really begins and ends with Camden and Hollywood Bowl, with a little Alpine thrown in the middle. Anything else is bonus disc worthy at best.
That said, here's where LT 42 lands for me:
1) I'll probably buy it. Bitching aside, it
does look like a solid show for 2007 - which was a good year for me as a fan, so a little nostalgia sweetens this one up a bit.
2) I enjoy the ADSR openers from that tour; a 2007 style Cornbread (darker melodies), SUAD, Shotgun are nice. Rest of the set is pretty average.
3) The only thing people are going to talk about is this IIHIA w/ extended intro. That probably should have been a WH disc pick, not sure how the whole show stacks up.
4) HOLLYWOOD BOWL COME ON.
As much as I'm okay with this release, I'm also pissed because 2007 doesn't feel like a year that will have too many chances at bat for release again. We already had more than our share back in the day (Vegas, Piedmont, Radio City, Lisbon, etc). I'm truly surprised to see another '07 show get a full release - but to that end, WTF why not Hollywood?? You cannot find a better show that tour. Must be an issue with all the guests on 10/2, paying royalties or whatever. Such a shame.
