Arkansas has been running wild with this Delta Variant. We're amongst the lowest vaccinated in the US, and our vaccination rate was only at like 38% last I saw. Our main hospital in Little Rock is full.

I'm definitely nervous about the upcoming show. I'm playing it by ear and may skip it if things get worse here. I haven't gone into a large crowd since March of 2020, so we've been playing it super safe.

A lot of us are vaccinated here - my wife and I, and our two kids over age 12, but we still have three under 12 who aren't vaccinated, and one is autoimmune, so it's a challenge for us to make plans with this Delta Variant ravaging our state.

Hope things get better because I definitely miss seeing DMB.

I also have three kids all under twelve and just made the decision to not take them to Deer Creek, which is a shame because they were all super excited for it. I’m vaccinated and at the moment I still plan to go, but it won’t be the same without the family.

Whatever, these boards are a cesspool, and even many DMB fans are apparently Assholes. I figured on finding more progressive thinking here, but obviously I was wrong. No different than a right wing site like Daily Mail. I guess I expected better, but was wrong.
Which findings will be confirmed; the Israeli findings? What makes you so certain that one they’ll be confirmed and two they will be more valid than the several other studies that conflict?

This was going to be my 14 year old's first show, but given how bad it is here in Arkansas, I'm really hesitant. Right now I'm leaning on possibly going by myself, but it remains to be seen what our case count is like around then, and how much worse it gets.

I'm headed to Raleigh this week with my 2 boys, both of whom are too young to get vaccinated just yet. I was fairly ok with this a few weeks back, but the numbers are going up quicker than I anticipated. Outdoor venue makes me feel better, but man is this a slippery slope.

Past few years I've taken my kids to concerts. We usually sit in the family section of the lawn if I can't get isle seats down lower. My kids are 4 and 9 so my wife and I have decided to leave them home this year, will make for a more relaxing concert experience but at the same time something I like to share with them.

My wife and I are both fully vaccinated and both work in healthcare. My wife is a lot more paranoid about the virus than I am, so I won't be surprised if she'll have us both wearing masks as we walk into the venue and walk around more crowded areas. Gonna sit in the lawn because she wants more open air.

We have not decided to pull the plug just yet, but it's more of a possibility in my head than it was even a week ago. Opinions can frame any sort of argument. I'm going to generalize that DMB fans are more vaccinated than not (not trying to be political at all), and the general Raleigh area of NC is more vaccinated than not. Also the outdoor venue helps. I'm not there just yet in saying this will be ok for them, but its what my hope is clinging onto. No doubt we will get looks if we decide to move forward bringing them. They'd be crushed if they did not go. Ugh...

no one should feel bad/shamed if they choose to wear masks-- they just also need to feel the same about people that choose to not wear masks.

    it's your own personal choice.

This right here. Im sure there will be a handful of people with masks at the show. Thats their prerogative. I've never encountered anyone that gave a shit about someone being masked or not irl. I haven't worn a mask in a long time and I will not put one on again unless a medical office im going to requires it. As long as no one is a jerk to me or my fiance about masks at the shows I won't say anything to anyone about their choice.

Cant wait for the shows this weekend. Its going to be awesome

I really hope baring evidence that a variant is putting vaccinated people in the hospital in high numbers DMB doesn't pull a Foo Fighters and postpone single shows cause someone in the crew tests positive. Same thing happened here in the Northeast for a Yankees game last Thursday. I feel like they have pushed the vaccine so much that at this point in the USA those who didn't get the vaccine know the risks and those who are vaccinated are nearly safe from having to be in the hospital if the test positive.

I would be pissed if DMB shows get cut because one possible positive in the crew. Now again if a variant starts putting people in the hospital who are vaccinated at alarming rates i would get a hard stop on the tour. The reality is more people are going to be heading to the ER from DMB shows from alcohol poisoning than covid.

So if the venue requires one to enter, are you gonna be the guy holding up the line fighting with the gate staff over a mask?
I don’t care if anyone wears a mask at the shows, but I do care if people make shitty lines shittier.

I don’t think the NC or Alpharetta shows have any mention if masks, so that should be a non-issue right?

Going to the NC shows. Meeting a friend who isn’t vaccinated. Do
these venues require a vaccine card or a separate line for temperature checks…

    Thanks in advance

If the venue hasn't articulated a policy in advance, and there isn't a local mandate (and I'm not aware of one), I don't believe this will be an issue for you/your friend.

I haven't worn a mask in a long time and I will not put one on again unless a medical office im going to requires it.
Um, I read the part where he explicitly said he wouldn't wear one except at a doctor's office?

    Re: 2021/COVID Venue Policies

I haven't posted much for the last few weeks, after having my opinions ridiculed and s&*t upon by many of the posters here.

But I wanted to come back and apologize for being so wrong. I had been accused of being full of it about everything the past year and a half, and I was. As I was told by several here, in no uncertain terms, all my worrying was just unnecessary fearmongering, and predictions last month of an upcoming surge and dark times on the horizon, now appear to have been unwarranted.

I recall how I stated I had heard that even those who were vaccinated could catch and spread the virus, but was met with attacks and demands to show proof that was the case. Once again, clearly I was wrong, and studies have now shown that if you're vaccinated, it's impossible to get infected or spread the virus to others.

Clearly everything is under control, and we can all now feel completely comfortable attending a large capacity event like DMB, without worrying about contracting the virus. The last days and weeks have shown that we're well on the way to normalcy, and by next month, Covid will be nothing more than a memory.

I can't tell you how glad I am to be wrong, so I can now enjoy the DMB concerts I have tickets to next month, without having to worry much about the virus. It's a huge relief to now know that it was all overreaction on my part.

Sorry to bring up the dead and buried Covid subject again. I'll go back into hibernation in regards to discussing it here. After all, The Shows Must Go On, and virus talk is so 2020.
